Healthcare Engineer

Key Role:

Provide technical and programmatic support to Federal clients, including evaluating healthcare facility operations, including compliance with VHA design and operational requirements, The Joint Commission, and consensus standards such as NFPA, organizing, scheduling, and facilitating technical discussions and reviews of construction management projects, technical requirements review and development, design reviews of new and updated facilities, systems, and equipment, onsite audits and inspections for construction projects, healthcare facility operations to validate compliance with project designs and generation of associated reports, and key performance indicator (KPI) data analysis and reporting. Communicate and collaborate with client personnel at all organizational levels to identify, assess the risk of, and mitigate hazards that can adversely affect construction projects.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience planning, executing, and monitoring activities concerned with the operation of healthcare environments, facilities, and systems
  • Experience in technical requirements review and development and in conducting onsite audits and inspections
  • Experience with regulatory and consensus standards such as National Fire Protection Association and Unified Facilities Criteria, and enterprise-level construction management policies and guidance
  • Experience working in a healthcare environment, including construction and engineering operations and associated requirements, such as infection prevention and control
  • Ability to provide healthcare facility operations support including organizing, scheduling, and facilitating technical discussions and working groups
  • Ability to manage complex projects
  • Ability to travel up to 75% of the time
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Architecture

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience in training development and delivery
  • Experience in key performance indicator (KPI) development, data analysis, and reporting
  • Experience with Federal government agencies such as U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), or U.S. Department of Defense (DoD)
  • Experience working in or with VA healthcare facilities
  • Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Possession of excellent problem-solving skills
  • Certified Construction Manager (CCM) Certification
  • Certified Healthcare Facility Manager (CHFM) Certification

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $62,000.00 to $141,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
