Responsibilities

Garfield Park Behavioral Hospital is dedicated to providing behavioral health and psychiatric support to children and teens ages 3 to 17. Above all else, we treat every patient with compassion and respect. Using evidence-based treatment approaches and individualized care, we strive to instill hope in our patients, their families and our community.

JOB SUMMARY: Coordinates and schedules authorized use of Hospital vehicles. Operates Hospital vehicles. Schedules routine preventative maintenance and necessary repairs of Hospital vehicles; verifies accuracy of maintenance/repairs prior to submission of payment invoices. May be required to make simple repairs and/or perform routine preventative maintenance tasks on Hospital vehicles. Completes and maintains tasks on Hospital vehicles. Completes and maintains all records as required by Hospital/Department policies and procedures. Assures the maintenance of a safe and sanitary environment. Provides escort and transportation services to adult, children and adolescent patients.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each primary duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

Education: High School Diploma or GED required; staff onboarded prior to April, 2021 grandfathered.

Experience: Experience with patient transport preferred.

Licensure/Certification: Valid driver's license with verification of no more than one (1) accident on record for the preceding five (5) years, no more than two (2) moving violations for the preceding six (6) years, no reckless driving tickets and no DWI/DUI violations.

Knowledge: Ability to read, write, and speak the English language; ability to follow written and oral directions; ability to read and interpret maps and maintenance manuals.
