Building Engineer/Stationary Engineer

U.S. Facilities, Inc., a consolidated facility management/infrastructure service organization, is seeking a Full-time Building Engineer/Stationary Engineer to work in Philadelphia. This is to be accomplished on a routine basis as outlined in the following responsibilities:

As a key member of the HVAC/R team, you'll be responsible for maintaining and operating RTU's, AHU's, VRF's, MUR's, boilers, chillers, energy management systems, exhaust fans, laundry equipment, fire alarm systems, and refrigeration equipment in commercial and industrial settings. Your tasks will include observing and interpreting system readings, adjusting controls to ensure safe and efficient operations, recording operations data, and performing routine and preventive maintenance. You'll also operate building automation systems, maintain maintenance records, and make repairs as needed. When you are the only engineer at a facility, you will be provided a phone and laptop and will be responsible for communicating with the clients as needed, however, in person response unless approved by the client, shall take place during your regular shift. Additional duties may be assigned as required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Performs all repairs and maintenance of all heating/cooling and ventilating components standard to the building operations.
• Performs HVAC tasks at the highest-level involving piping systems, motors and controllers, pneumatic systems, chilled water, etc.
• Maintains air handlers and other mechanical equipment by changing filters, belts, oil, cleaning coils, and drain pans.
• Operates, installs, repairs, and maintains mechanical equipment such as air handlers, exhaust fans, automatic valves, pneumatic and electrical controls, refrigeration systems, space heating and cooling units.
• Replace Fire & Smoke Alarm detectors.
• Replace sprinkler heads and perform minor repairs on sprinkler systems.
• Upkeep, cleaning, and painting of Boiler room equipment.
• Monitor and file records of certificates and licenses of the Power plant equipment.
• Required to respond to emergencies such as floods, power outages, etc.
• Must provide own basic hand tools and test equipment.
• Capable of reading blueprints, drawings, and layouts.
• Must be able to read and speak English clearly
• Valid Driver's license.
• Able to climb ladders and walk long distances.
• Able to pass a background investigation without a Criminal history.
• Able to pass pre-employment drug screening and random drug testing.
• Must be able to work overtime when required and preapproved by the client.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
• Must be able to work in all climate conditions

• Must be able to perform minor plumbing tasks
• Shifts may involve multiple schedules.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

• High school graduate equivalent.
• Three (3) years of maintenance experience and an additional two (2) years of experience in a boiler room, attending boilers and chillers (large commercial facility preferred)
• Ability to operate building automation systems.
• Philadelphia Class A license required.
• Universal Refrigeration Certification.
