Employment Type: Full-Time | A Shift (Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and every other Wednesday, 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM)

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Equipment Maintenance Technician to join Polar Semiconductor on our A Shift team. In this role, you will provide hands-on reactive and preventative maintenance on critical production support equipment, including gas cabinets, chemical delivery modules, and abatement systems. Your work will ensure reliable equipment performance, support continuous improvement, and contribute directly to the stability and efficiency of semiconductor manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance in coordination with production teams.

  • Complete all maintenance tasks following procedures, standards, and best practices.

  • Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly inspections; record findings in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

  • Communicate and report potential system improvements to drive continuous improvement.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve equipment failures, driving root cause solutions.

  • Support system reliability through effective planning, prioritization, and documentation.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Associate degree in Automation, Electronics, HVAC, or a related field; or equivalent work experience.

  • Solid background in electrical and mechanical maintenance.

  • Knowledge and use of CMMS systems.

  • Ability to read and interpret pneumatic schematics and electrical wiring diagrams.

  • Familiarity with instrumentation, controls, safety systems, and electrical components.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent organizational, prioritization, and communication skills.

Preferred:

  • Previous experience in HVAC, industrial gas, chemical, or oil industries.

  • Experience with PLC hardwire and system backups.

  • Hands-on experience with Praxair, Edwards, Airguard, DAS, Ebara, or Air Liquide equipment.

  • Knowledge of Engineering Change Order procedures.

Physical Requirements

This position requires working 12-hour shifts in a cleanroom environment, wearing full cleanroom attire (bunny suit, mask, gloves, protective eyewear, and booties). Technicians must be able to:

  • Stand and walk for extended periods.

  • Gown/degown multiple times per shift.

  • Wear PPE for hazardous chemicals and high-temperature environments.

  • Use fine motor skills for handling small tools (pliers, screwdrivers, meters, keyboards, etc.) frequently throughout shifts.

  • Work in confined spaces and perform tasks involving bending, squatting, kneeling, and stooping.

  • Lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs (most common is 10-25 lbs).

  • Safely perform tool maintenance in areas with high voltage, toxic gases, and chemicals.

  • Maintain visual acuity, attention to detail, and strong communication for documentation and logging.

What We Offer

Salary: $28.00 - $34.00 per hour (plus applicable shift differentials)
