SS118 Assembly Technician II
Within the Planetary Environments Laboratory of NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center, ADNET has an opening for a precision, fine assembly technician to construct elements of space flight mass spectrometer instrumentation to highly precise tolerances and with sufficient robustness to survive the harsh environment of launch and operations on a variety of planetary science missions. The successful candidate must have experience working to assemble small metal and ceramic parts to high precision and must exhibit dedication to detail with patience and consistency. It is desirable for the candidate to have worked in a clean room environment, where gloves, tweezers, and cleanroom garments can provide an extra challenge when assembling at the small scale. Experience with mass spectrometer metrology, small-scale fabrication, welding, machining, and quality screening of parts is also desired.
Required:


  • High school diploma
  • 2+ years experience in fine assembly work
  • Demonstrated experience assembling small metal and ceramic parts
  • US Citizenship or Permanent Residency (LPR) required, with US residency for the past 3 consecutive years.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Tier 1 Investigation through NASA.



Desired:


  • Clean room experience
  • Metrology and parts screening experience
  • Welding experience (electron beam, arc, orbital)
