Current Need:

McKesson Pharmacy Systems and Supplylogix are a combined software company delivering practical workflow and supply chain intelligence solutions for pharmacies and related businesses. As a nimble business unit within a larger corporation, we combine the stability of a strong foundation with the agility to innovate rapidly. Our mission is to build impactful products that simplify the practice of pharmacy and improve patient satisfaction. We are seeking a strategic oriented Senior Manager of IT to lead and scale our technology team, drive technical excellence, and ensure successful delivery of high-quality solutions to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor a team of technologists, fostering a high-performance, collaborative, and inclusive culture.

  • Own the technical delivery of complex projects, ensuring alignment with business goals, timelines, and quality standards.

  • Align with Product, QA, and DevSecOps to define and execute on the product and technical roadmaps.

  • Drive architectural decisions and ensure scalable, maintainable, and secure software systems.

  • Champion engineering best practices, including CI/CD, automated testing, and agile methodologies.

  • Monitor and improve team performance, delivery velocity, and code quality through metrics and continuous feedback.

  • Act as a technical advisor and thought leader across the organization, influencing strategy and innovation.

  • Manage cross-functional dependencies and proactively resolve delivery risks and blockers.

Minimum Requirement:

  • Degree or equivalent experience. Typically requires 9+ years of professional experience and 1+ years of supervisory and/or management experience.

Critical Skills:

  • 9+ years of experience in software or data engineering, with at least 1+ years in a people management or technical leadership role.

  • Proven experience leading engineering teams through the full software development lifecycle.

  • Strong background in system design, architecture, and modern software development practices.

  • Experience working in Agile environments and leading multiple concurrent initiatives.

  • Deep understanding of distributed systems, microservices, and cloud-native architectures.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.

  • Passion for mentoring, coaching, and growing engineering talent.

  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a bias for action and continuous improvement.

  • Expertise in modern programming languages and frameworks.

  • Experience with modern data engineering approaches and technologies.

  • Able to travel up to 20%.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency with workflow management tools, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code (e.g., ARM templates).

  • Experience in the healthcare or pharmacy domain.

  • Familiarity with Agile frameworks such as Scrum or Kanban; Agile certification is a plus.

  • Experience with Microsoft Azure or other cloud platforms.

  • Track record of driving technology transformation and scaling teams.

This is determined by several factors, including performance, experience and skills, equity, regular job market evaluations, and geographical markets. The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. Our Base Pay Range for this position

$127,500 - $212,500
