JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking aClinical Nurse IIto independently plan and provide professional nursing care for patients in ambulatory clinic settings in accordance with the medical and nursing plans of care and established policies and procedures. Provide nursing services to patients and families in accordance with the scope of the RN as defined by the North Carolina Board of Nursing. The primary responsibility of this role will be administering allergy immunotherapy (allergy shots), monitoring for adverse reactions, and providing patient education while ensuring patient safety and adhering to clinic protocols.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Administer allergy immunotherapy (allergy shots) as prescribed by the physician.
  • Perform patient intake including: obtaining vital signs (including manual blood pressures), administering survey tools, conducting educational assessments (patients/guardians), medication review, assisting patients with preparing questions for provider visit, assisting patients with ambulation/toileting.
  • Completing procedural tasks including administering allergy skin tests, measuring and interpreting allergy skin test results, oral immunotherapy, oral medications, oral food challenges according to protocols and provider orders. Monitor patients for potential reactions to therapy administered.
  • Provide patient/family education, bill for nursing procedures. Administering specialty medication injections. Full assessments as needed. Monitor patients for potential reactions to therapy administered.
  • Provide patient/family education for specialty injections and assess for understanding.
  • Bill for nursing procedures.
  • Assist with prior authorizations and triage as available.
  • Documentation in electronic health record.
  • Participate in own professional development by maintaining required competencies, identifying learning needs and seeking appropriate assistance or educational offerings.
  • Support the development of other staff and formal learners. Participate in the identification of clinical, operational and safety related performance improvement opportunities.
  • Participate in clinic or entity level performance improvement activities.
  • Actively participate in unit staff meetings and committee meetings with minimum 80% attendance.
  • Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.



JOB ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS



  • Work requires graduation from an accredited BSN or Associate's Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma program. Exception: Registered nurses hired between July 1, 2014 and April 11, 2021 without a Bachelor's degree in Nursing (or higher) are expected to enroll in an appropriate BSN program within two years of their start date but must complete the program within seven years of their start date. Registered nurses hired before July 1, 2014 are not required to enroll in a BSN program to remain in this job classification.
  • Must have current or compact RN licensure in the state of North Carolina. If candidate has another compact state RN license, NC state licensure must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
  • BLS required.
  • Some related pediatric experience is preferred.


JOB HOURS

The schedule for this position is day shifts, Monday-Friday, withan occasional Saturday morning.*Creekstone is open one Saturday morning per month. Staff and specialties rotate.
