| What to Expect Tesla is seeking an ambitiousEnvironmentalEngineer to join the Environmental, Health and Safety Team (EHS). The Environmental Engineer will report directly to the Senior Environmental Manager and will support environmental compliance programsfor TexasManufacturing sites.
 They will support day-to-day operations and associated environmental aspects/impacts to reduce environmental risk, assure environmental compliance, andseekand capitalize on opportunities to reduce environmental footprint of Texasmanufacturingoperations. The Environmental Engineer will develop, implement, and continuously improve programs within the EHS Management System framework in partnership with the broader EHS and Infrastructure teams. This individual willmonitorand analyze the developing trends and changes in regulatory waste compliance laws, rules and regulationsandassure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations, and conformance to internal and industry standards. What You'll Do
 
  Prepare environmental reports for Giga Texas, including Toxic Chemical Release Inventory (TRI), Biennial Hazardous Waste Reports to US EPA, and waste data to Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ)Assist Texas manufacturing sites in determining applicability of TRI reporting thresholds and activities, collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to gather consumption data and estimate waste releases, storage, treatment, and transfer for Form R summary and reportingSupport the Hazardous and Industrial Waste Compliance Assurance Program for Texas manufacturing sites in coordination with the Texas Hazardous and Industrial Waste Operations ManagerParticipate in engineering design reviews, providing feedback to achieve environmental complianceImplement Tesla's Toxic Substance Control Act (TSCA) Compliance Assurance Program at Texas manufacturing sites as applicableAssist with implementing Pollution Prevention (P2) practices and preparing/maintaining P2 plans and corresponding regulatory reportsPrepare content for environmental management training for inclusion in Tesla Learning Management System (LMS) or live training sessionsWhat You'll Bring
 
  Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or an environmental-related discipline,or equivalent experienceMinimum of 1 year of experience managing multi-media environmental compliance programs and related projectsPrevious experience preparing Toxic Release Inventory (TRI) and Hazardous and Industrial Waste compliance and reporting in TexasDemonstrated ability to work efficiently, prioritize workflow, meet demanding deadlines, and manage multi-faceted projects in a fast-paced environment where demands and priorities change rapidlyAbility to communicate effectively with production employees, engineers, legal counsel, technical specialists, and management cross-functionally in a multi-disciplinary environmentFoundational knowledge of EHS laws (EPCRA, RCRA, IFC, DOT, CAA, CWA, OSHA, etc.), regulations, and standardsKnowledge in environmental data analytics and environmental pollution release calculationsCompensation and Benefits
