Electrical Technician - 10-month contract

Position Summary:

The Electrical Technician supports railcar system testing and installation under the guidance of the Site Supervisor. This role involves hands-on electrical work, troubleshooting, and collaboration with engineering teams to ensure quality and compliance with safety standards.

Your Day-to-Day:

• Attend and follow daily job briefings and adhere to all site safety protocols
• Perform inspections and functional testing of railcar electrical systems per defined procedures
• Document test results and generate test record sheets
• Troubleshoot system failures and assist in root cause analysis and repair recommendations
• Install and repair electrical components including:




• Wire harnesses and terminations
• Electrical connections (e.g., crimping)
• Conduits, enclosures, sensors, and devices




• Provide feedback to engineering for continuous improvement of procedures
• Sign off on quality control documentation and testing records

Who You Are:

As a successful candidate, you will bring the following to the team:

• Minimum 5 years of experience as an electrician or electrical technician, preferably in heavy-duty vehicles or rail industry
• Strong understanding of electrical distribution systems, HVAC, and wiring
• Experience with system testing and troubleshooting in coordination with engineering teams
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics
• Commitment to safety and hazard mitigation
• AAR Carman certification is a strong asset
• Positive, team-oriented attitude with strong communication skills
