What you will do:
- Work closely with an assigned engineer to:
- Apply thermal science theory and principles to HVAC data analysis and modeling
- Learn and contribute to Daikin heat exchanger performance modeling and prediction
- Learn basics of HVAC industry heat exchanger and chiller design, operation, and modeling
- Interact with and get exposure to a range of Daikin engineering personnel, including test technicians and laboratory personnel, engineers, project managers, and engineering management.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Junior currently enrolled in an accredited degree program in Mechanical Engineering or related
- Successfully completed Thermodynamics I
- Completion of Heat Transfer and Fluid Dynamics by Spring 2026
- Work visa sponsorship is not available for this position
- Experience in the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
- Exposure to HVAC systems
- Experience with experimental methods, data analysis and uncertainty analysis
- Reside within a 300-mile radius of the Plymouth, MN office
The typical hourly pay rate for this position is $24/hr - $27/hr. This represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade which this position falls. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
