Overview The UT Technical Plan Development Engineering Intern is responsible for developing detailed Ultrasonic Testing (UT) inspection plans in alignment with client specifications, project requirements, and Element's operating procedures. Working closely with UT Level 3 personnel, and operations teams, the engineering intern plays a critical role in onboarding new parts and defining inspection scopes for repeatable success This role ensures that each UT plan is designed with safety, repeatability, and efficiency in mind-supporting consistent, high-quality inspections and long-term client satisfaction. This internship provides exposure to real-world NDT engineering practices, client collaboration, and inspection planning workflows. It is designed for students pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline. Salary: $25- $30/hour (Depending on Experience) Responsibilities * Develop and document UT scan plans based on engineering specifications, drawings, and part requirements. Skills / Qualifications Qualifications Education and/or Experience * Able to read and interpret technical documents and drawings. * Proficient in basic algebra, trigonometry, and geometry * Strong problem-solving interest with a practical mindset. Work Environment: * Exposure to varying environmental conditions, including noise, heat, cold, and confined spaces. * Strict adherence to radiation safety protocols, lockout/tagout procedures, and all company/site-specific safety requirements. * Proper use of PPE (e.g., safety glasses, gloves) is mandatory.
