Job Description

General Summary:

The Associate Director, Clinical Supply Chain has broad external influence within established global supply networks and will foster interdisciplinary understanding and integrate activities both within and outside the Supply Chain organization. This role will typically manage a Supply Chain function, such as production planning, clinical supplies, logistics, involving coordination of activities of one or more individual contributors. This role sets the standard for work within their function and has responsibility for the development of group goals, resource plans and budgets.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Contributes to overall strategic development of a supply chain function including working with other cross functional leaders to integrate the activities of the function
  • Influences objectives across existing global supply chain networks
  • Assists in the creation of department goals
  • Collaborates with Finance to develop a budgeting process for the function
  • Supports supplier selection and managers relations for function-specific suppliers
  • Presents overall group strategy and high level Supply Chain issues
  • Contributes actively to multi-year supply agreement negotiations
  • Leads and owns group business processes including designing, drafting, reviewing and approving SOPs for group activities
  • Determines project assignments and staffing requirements for projects
  • Determines hiring plan for group in conjunction with senior management
  • Monitors activity of function and provides staff with reliable guidance regarding career development
  • Motivates staff and resolves conflicts
  • Takes full responsibility within scope of the position and/or materials or projects managed to work with various cross-functional groups (such as Quality, Tech Ops, Regulatory, suppliers, etc.) to proactively and collaboratively resolve issues that may block the timely flow of materials or projects
  • As a people manager within the organization, may have financial accountabilities and human resource responsibilities for assigned staff.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Ability to contribute to complex contract negotiations
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects with high degree of effectiveness
  • Possesses a distinguished record of delivering on critical project goals and moving projects forward
  • Exhibits robust knowledge across supply chain disciplines
  • Strong knowledge in overall drug development
  • Demonstrates strong aptitude for managing and motivating others and building team unity
  • Proven ability to communicate clearly and concisely (written/oral) with all levels of the company

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain/Manufacturing Operations-related disciplines
  • Typically requires 8 years of experience in a Biotech, Pharmaceutical or CRO company and 2 years of supervisory/management experience, or the equivalent combination of education

Pay Range:

$151,500 - $227,200

Disclosure Statement:

The range provided is based on what we believe is a reasonable estimate for the base salary pay range for this job at the time of posting. This role is eligible for an annual bonus and annual equity awards. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay, in accordance with federal and state requirements. Actual base salary pay will be based on a number of factors, including skills, competencies, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law.

Hybrid-Eligible Or On-Site Eligible

In this Hybrid-Eligible role, you can choose to be designated as:
1. Hybrid: work remotely up to two days per week; or select
2. On-Site: work five days per week on-site with ad hoc flexibility.
