SUMMARY
This position's primary focus will be to design, develop, test, maintain, and troubleshoot complex reports, dashboards, and ETL processes. The developer must take ownership of projects/tasks/issues and work them through completion; follow defined guidelines and coding standards and meet user requirements. In addition, the developer will collaborate with end users and provide exceptional customer service by becoming a trusted business advisor.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Works with the various business customers and determine clear and actionable requirements from concept to implementation for new or existing reporting modules, processes, or application suite tools including but not limited to dashboards, balanced scorecards, reports, cubes, and summaries
- Design, develop, test, and document queries, ETL processes, data models and reports
- Participates in the quality checks on the completeness and accuracy of data and works with end users to follow through with associated action items.
- Proactively monitor and tune databases, queries, stored procedures and ETL processes
- Proactively perform audits of data, reports, queries and tables to identify weaknesses in data integrity
- Perform project activities including: work planning, resource estimating, recommended issue prioritization and resolution
- Recommend process and/or design enhancements to team
- Research and communicate answers to end-users' questions regarding data and solutions
- Effectively communicate, guidance (including instructional sessions and tutorials) to end users on processes, data, attributes, and reports; and general query knowledge for the purposes of analysis and report development
- Document solutions as implemented or analyzed as requested
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues in a timely manner while maintaining adequate communication with end users
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or related fields (or minimum 5 years of equivalent experience)
- Minimum 5+ years of experience with SQL Server - 2012 including SSIS/SSAS/SSRS, performance troubleshooting and tuning experience is a plus
- Minimum 5+ years of experience with Power BI or Excel with Power Query and DAX experience and knowledge
- Minimum 5+ years of experience with advanced SQL query development
- Proficient in Visual Studio with SQL Server Data Tools and/or BIDS
- Dynamics AX/Dynamics 365 integration experience is a plus
- Programming experience (VB.NET, C# or Python) a plus
- Proven track record with scalable data warehouse development and Kimball methodologies
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects with different subject matters at once
- Knowledge of scorecard / dashboard software a plus
- Ability to learn processes and systems quickly
- Ability to work closely within a team as well as independently
- Must be a self-starter with excellent organization, prioritization, and customer service skills
- MCSE: Business Intelligence Solution Expert certification or equivalent certification a plus
