The Director of Construction Services has overall accountability for the success and continued growth of Schaedler Yesco's construction services organization. Leads the team responsible for effectively managing inventory and services at customer facilities and job sites. Works strategically with sales managers and sales teams to target key accounts and opportunities to grow sales and profitability across the company footprint. Continually investigates avenues to improve or increase service offerings including the consideration of new technology advancements and the impact they can have on productivity. Maintains an attitude of constant process review and improvement.

Essential Functions:



  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the IMS SIMS team.
  • Lead, schedule regular meetings, be engaged in the process, and keep the team focused on goals and objectives.
  • Continually analyze employee's roles and tasks for suitability and team productivity.
  • Develop personal growth opportunities for staff, and schedule appropriate job-related training. Provide coaching and counseling as required.
  • Ensure staff follow company policies and procedures.
  • Provide timely support and responsiveness to the team when they need assistance or direction.
  • Perform employee performance reviews as scheduled. Meet with staff on a regular basis to discuss performance, workload or any concerns the employee may have.
  • Direct strategy and set growth goals and targets for the department.
  • Collaborate with sales managers and salespeople to target new customers.
  • Prepare annual budgets, regularly review and maintain the budget, and track sales.
  • Identify opportunities in new territories or new market segments.
  • Review and analyze KPIs. Use data to improve sales and operational performance.
  • Update Executive Management on sales performance as necessary
  • Manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders.
  • Build and promote strong, long-lasting customer relationships by performing sales visits to validate our service level and to make sure we are meeting their expectations with our program.
  • Be directly involved in errors or mistakes that negatively impact our service level. Investigate, take corrective action, and provide the customer with a follow-up response to the issue.
  • Analyze information and processes and develop more effective or efficient processes and strategies.
  • Evaluate assets on a regular basis for viability. Replace or recondition the asset to make it suitable for field usage.
  • Audit and Review Field Op's asset tracking spreadsheet and Fleetio report for accuracy.
  • Manage relationships/agreements with external partners/vendors.

Supervisory Responsibility:



  • This position is a supervisory role and the following roles report directly to the Director of Services:

    • Outside Sales team for:

      • IMS Sales Specialist
      • SIM Sales Specialist






Work Environment:

This job operates primarily in an office setting with the balance of the time split between visiting various job sites, customer sites, branches/warehouses, and attending meetings. This position requires the use of standard office equipment such as computers, internet, smartphones, and photocopiers. The Director of Services will be required to visit projects on various construction sites. When at job sites you may be exposed to varying temperature conditions depending on the location of the job site and associated weather.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to have:



  • the ability to stand, walk for moderately long distances, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) weight up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to use a keyboard and type proficiently.

Travel:

Some overnight travel is required, and the employee can reasonably expect on average 15-20% overnight travel to meet the demands of the position. A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required for this position.

Clearances and Certifications:



  • Various clearances will be required. U.S. Citizenship or U.S. Permanent Resident status is required.


Education and Experience:



  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Previous leadership experience required, 6 or more years preferred.
  • Customer service experience preferred.
  • Project management experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of construction processes and practices is preferred.
  • Sales and/or business development experience a plus
