ENERGY SYSTEMS GROUP is looking for an Engineering Manager to join our Federal team. The position is virtual with occasional travel including overnight stays. The Engineering Manager is responsible for consistent delivery of Energy Systems Group's (ESG) systems and services including attention to engineering aspects and associated details. Engineering can involve technical support in projects that span small technological applications to larger, multi-faceted, multi-million-dollar projects. The Engineering Manager, Engineering Development & Design (EDD) is responsible for managing the activities of ESG's EDD group and external engineering consultants to ensure all goals and objectives of supporting the project development phase are accomplished. The Engineering Manager, reporting to the Director of Engineering, will perform management activities for his or her direct reports on the EDD team and work in concert with the Development Leaders (DLs), the manager of DLs, construction / operation managers to ensure all development phase goals and objectives are met. The EDD group also provides any needed engineering coordination and support as a project moves from development to construction to commissioning to Performance Period. The Engineering Manager is responsible for his/her direct reports and engineering consultants supporting these efforts. He or she is also responsible for adhering to existing standard operating procedure (SOP) for project development as well as for identifying and implementing SOP improvements for development activities. The Engineering Manager will apply his/her technical knowledge, project knowledge, project management experience, well-rounded communication skills, and overall effective and proactive management of people, process and project, to ensure that our commitments are met on time, within budget, and project risks are appropriately mitigated, and delivered at the quality expected by the customer.
