Overview

SSOE Group, a global leader in architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) project delivery, is seeking a visionary and technically skilled Cloud and IT Infrastructure Manager to lead the strategic design, implementation, and governance of our enterprise infrastructure. This role is pivotal in aligning IT architecture with business goals, driving modernization, and ensuring operational excellence across our global systems. The successful candidate will lead a high-performing team of System Administrators and infrastructure professionals, championing innovation and resilience in a hybrid cloud environment. This role is available in the Toledo (OH), Troy (MI), Hillsboro (OR), Atlanta (GA) and Nashville (TN) areas.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Strategy

    Lead, mentor, and develop a global team of System Administrators, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Define and evolve enterprise architecture standards, frameworks, and roadmaps aligned with business and IT strategy.
  • Partner with IT leadership to shape and execute the infrastructure roadmap, including cloud adoption, automation, and modernization initiatives.
  • Contribute to IT budget planning, forecasting, and resource allocation.

Infrastructure Operations

  • Oversee the design, deployment, and support of enterprise infrastructure, including:
    • Microsoft technologies (Windows Server, Active Directory, Entra AD, SCCM, Intune, M365)
    • Virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V)
    • Networking (firewalls, SD-WAN, VPN, VLANs)
    • Storage, backup, business continuity, and disaster recovery
    • Endpoint management and imaging practices
  • Ensure high availability, performance, and scalability of infrastructure systems.
  • Define and monitor SLAs, KPIs, and performance metrics for infrastructure services.
  • Drive observability and alerting strategy to proactively identify and resolve system performance issues.
  • Lead capacity planning efforts to support scalable growth and avoid performance bottlenecks.

Enterprise Architecture

  • Provide architectural oversight for infrastructure projects, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards and security policies.
  • Evaluate and recommend emerging technologies that enhance operational efficiency and business agility.
  • Collaborate with application, security, and service desk teams to ensure cohesive and secure system integration.

Team Development & Performance Management

  • Serve as a technical escalation point for complex infrastructure issues.
  • Support the professional growth of System Administrators through training, mentoring, and career development.
  • Promote cross-training and knowledge sharing to build team resilience and redundancy.
  • Ensure clear ownership, documentation, and accountability for core systems.
  • Implement career development plans and succession strategies to build a resilient and future-ready infrastructure team.

Governance & Compliance

  • Develop and enforce IT policies, procedures, and standards related to infrastructure and architecture.
  • Ensure compliance with licensing, regulatory, and security frameworks across domestic and international operations.
  • Ensure infrastructure systems align with enterprise cybersecurity policies and support audit readiness.
  • Manage vendor relationships and contracts for infrastructure-related services and solutions.
  • Manage licensing and forecasting for cloud and infrastructure platforms to ensure compliance, cost efficiency, renewal planning, and alignment with strategic plans.


Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 15+ years of progressive IT infrastructure experience, including 3-5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven experience managing hybrid cloud and on-premise environments.
  • Deep technical expertise in Microsoft enterprise technologies, virtualization, networking, and storage.
  • Experience with enterprise architecture frameworks and tools.
  • Experience leading geographically distributed teams
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
  • Salary Range: $120,000 - $130,000 year depending on location, education, experience, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.

Preferred:

  • Master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., TOGAF, Azure Solutions Architect, VMware, ITIL).
  • Experience in the AEC or professional services industry.
