Tectonic is currently seeking a full-time, experienced Senior Manager of Environmental Services qualified as a New Jersey Licensed Site Remediation Professional (LSRP) to lead our environmental operations based out of our New Jersey office. This is a senior-level leadership opportunity to drive complex environmental compliance and remediation programs for high-profile clients across the region and beyond.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Manage a professionally staffed team of project managers, professional staff, and field technicians, to perform analysis and bring sites into regulatory compliance;
- Oversee environmental due diligence and site investigation programs, including Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) and Phase II Investigations;
- Provide leadership and technical direction for all phases of environmental investigation and remediation projects under:
- New Jersey Licensed Site Remediation Professional (LSRP) Program;
- New Jersey Industrial Site Recovery Act (ISRA);
- New Jersey Spill Compensation and Control Act (Spill Act);
- Guide preparation and implementation of Remedial Investigation Reports, Remedial Action Work Plans, and Final Remedial Action Reports;
- Serve as expert witness for environmental matters during town land use approvals, condemnation cases, and other governmental or private litigation proceedings;
- Advise and manage environmental liability and compliance strategies for national corporations, including oversight of issues related to asbestos, mold, IAQ, underground storage tanks (USTs), and hazardous materials management;
- Oversee hazardous materials compliance and remediation programs, including mold & bio-aerosols, asbestos-containing materials (ACM), lead-based paint (LBP), USTs, solid and hazardous waste (S/HW), universal waste (UW), and contaminants related to renovation and demolition activities;
- Lead the administration and execution of multi-year term contracts for inspection, testing, and remediation services with federal, state, and local agencies throughout New Jersey and other regions;
- Ensure compliance with all applicable New Jersey and federal environmental regulations, with particular expertise in USTs, indoor air quality (IAQ), ACM, and workplace safety;
- Contribute to strategic growth through client relationship management, business development, and proposal preparation;
- Mentor and support junior staff and project managers, fostering professional growth and technical excellence;
- Represent Tectonic in project meetings, hearings, and coordination calls with clients, agencies, and subcontractors;
- Ensure the highest standards of quality, consistency, and regulatory compliance across all project deliverables;
- All other related duties as required
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of 15 years of progressive environmental consulting experience, including leadership roles;
- Must possess a valid New Jersey Licensed Site Remediation Professional (LSRP) license;
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Environmental Science, Engineering, Geology, or a related technical field;
- Extensive experience with New Jersey DEP remediation programs, environmental compliance, and regulatory closure strategies;
- Proven experience managing complex environmental projects and multi-disciplinary teams;
- Expertise in hazardous materials management related to building demolition, renovation, and redevelopment;
- Strong working knowledge of applicable federal and NJ regulations, including ISRA, Spill Act, and UST rules;
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, including public speaking, expert testimony, and stakeholder engagement;
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and related environmental software and databases;
- A valid driver's license and personal vehicle are required for occasional travel to client meetings, project sites, and hearings.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
While performing the essential functions of this position, the employee is sometimes required to move around the job site and inspect, observe, move, operate, and/or transport documents, materials and/or field testing equipment relevant to the job and communicate about same. Such operable equipment includes, but is not limited to, peristaltic sampling pumps, photoionization detectors, battery packs, and augering instruments. The employee is also sometimes required to traverse the job-site while recording information and must frequently position themselves appropriately to gain access to necessary testing materials and equipment and to perform tests near wells and on the ground. The employee must sometimes lift and/or move up to 27 lbs. The employee is sometimes working in outdoor weather conditions, including exposure to extreme heat, extreme cold, biological hazards conditions and sometimes working in the office environment. The employee will also communicate with colleagues, supervisors and clients both orally and in writing through Corporate communication systems. The employee must also occasionally operate a computer and other related office machinery, such as printers, and fax machines. This position also requires the frequent operation of a motor-vehicle, which sometimes may require remaining stationary for extended periods of time. PAY RANGE
Tectonic's goal is to compensate employees fairly and equitable across all positions Companywide. Our advertised pay ranges are representative of our good faith effort to provide a reasonable anticipated salary range. The offered pay may be outside of the provided salary range based upon the selected candidate's work location, experience, education, certifications, and capabilities compared to the advertised position.
Pay Range: $160,000 - $210,000 / year
