Industrial Plant Equipment Specialist
Purpose:
- Valkyrie Enterprises has an immediate need for an Industrial Plant Equipment (IPE) Specialist in San Diego, CA, to support the Navy Afloat Maintenance Training Strategy (NAMTS) program and Regional Maintenance Centers (RMCs)
Job Description:
- Provides expert technical support and serve as a liaison among Regional NAMTS Coordinators (RNCs), Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), and other stakeholders to support readiness analysis, process modernization, and workforce development. The position requires extensive collaboration to identify competency gaps, recommend process improvements, and guide strategic planning for Navy Enlisted Classification (NEC) production and Sailor professional development.
- Manages the installation, configuration, and sustainment of industrial plant equipment at Regional Maintenance Centers (RMCs).
- Planning and developing facilities requirements for industrial plant equipment acquisitions, including specifications, cost estimates, environmental and safety compliance, site selection, and layout planning.
- Leads coordination efforts across functional areas, including contracting, logistics, and technical support teams, to ensure seamless project execution.
- Supports NEC issuance activities by validating documented maintenance tasks against JQR standards for accuracy and eligibility.
- Serves as a liaison with Regional NAMTS Coordinators, SMEs, and other stakeholders to identify trends, resolve issues, and recommend process improvements.
- Advises on upgrades to maintenance technology, processes, and training strategies to improve operational efficiency.
- Producing return-on-investment analyses, cost metrics, and status reports for senior leadership decision-making.
- Communicating effectively with outside organizations, contractors, and vendors to secure technical requirements, equipment procurement, and maintenance support.
Qualifications:
- Must have experience managing industrial plant equipment installations and configuration changes at a Regional Maintenance Center (RMC).
- Must have the ability to develop acquisition strategies, layouts, and technical documentation supporting equipment procurement, installation, and sustainment.
- Must have strong knowledge of industrial maintenance processes, safety compliance, and technical project management.
- Must have bachelor's degree or eight (8) years of specialized experience in industrial plant equipment installation management and configuration.
- Must demonstrate proven ability to collaborate across multiple organizations and manage stakeholder expectations in a fast-paced environment.
- Must have experience coordinating across multi-disciplinary project teams to deliver large-scale maintenance or modernization efforts.
- Must have demonstrated ability to present complex technical information to diverse audiences, including leadership and external stakeholders.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience designing and deploying process improvements in maintenance operations is preferred.
- Familiarity with Navy maintenance documentation, NEC production processes, and workforce training initiatives is preferred.
- Strong analytical skills to interpret technical requirements, cost estimates, and program performance data is preferred.
Security Requirements:
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance.
Travel Requirements:
- Travel up to 30%.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Passport.

Physical Requirements:
- Remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods.

Pay Range: $90,000 - $100,000 per year |
