Competitive compensation of $150,000-$165,000 Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Manage, Plan and implement engineering and permitting programs, including defining the project philosophy, activities, milestones, and staff requirements. Confer with technical sales engineer and sales staff to deliberate project specifications and specific project requirements. Provide input for engineering cost estimates and execution strategy. Directly supervise and lead engineering and permitting team and support personnel. Provide high level technical/analytical support to achieve business growth objectives. Interface with equipment suppliers to ensure consistency in design with supplier products and recommend design changes to improve station designs. Ensure engineering and permitting teams adhere to project schedules and budgets for the assigned engineering projects. Build a strong engineering and permitting team and drive technical projects to a successful conclusion on time and within budget. Recruit and mentor employees, assign, direct and evaluate their work, oversee the development and maintenance of staff competence. Train and upgrade department resources to keep current with industry standards. Perform administrative functions such as reviewing and writing reports, approving expenditures, enforcing rules, and making decisions about the purchase of services. Control overhead expenditures within limitations of department budget. Oversee assignment of personnel to specific phases or aspects of project such as technical studies, station design, preparation of specifications and detailed plans, and product testing. Develop engineering and design standards. Improve cost effectiveness while using innovative design ideas. Provide engineering review of drawings, submittals, and technical specifications. Prepare and submit written responses in support of permit applications and drawing submittals. Review all drawing packages for completeness, quality, accuracy, consistency with design objectives, and compliance with permitting/planning requirements. Manage, coordinate and supervise outside consulting efforts, including preparation of scope of work, issuance of work order authorizations, review of work product produced, adherence to design objectives, management of change orders, and overall cost and schedule control. Work collaboratively with all stakeholders, including but not limited to Operations, Project Management, Sales, Technology Advancement, Contractors, and Vendors to consider and implement lessons learned into standards, templates and station designs. Interface with customers, sales and project management to provide cost effective engineered solutions to technical issues. Provide timely status and progress reports to customer, project team, and management. Other duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities Directly supervise team of employees. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Education and/or Experience Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field, Proven recent experience leading team of 10 or more engineers; a minimum of 10+ years of related experience and/or training and 5 years of management experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. PE license in Civil Engineering required. A broad base of State licenses is preferred. Mathematical Skills Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Reasoning Ability Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Computer Skills Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and AutoCAD software. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Professional Engineering License in Civil Engineering. A broad base of State licenses is preferred; the ability to acquire additional licenses is required. General Contractor licenses are desirable.
