Overview

Position Summary: Responsible for managing the company injury management program. This includes all aspects of working with craft, staff, and medical professionals in the best interest of our injured employees. This position will proactively demonstrate our company's commitment to providing the best conservative care available through 3rd party medical assistance and direct interaction between the injured and the care providers. This employee must be well knowledgeable of company injury management processes and be able to effectively communicate between a variety of people to obtain the best outcome after an injury occurs. This person shall be an experienced safety manager with an excellent understanding of OSHA regulations, recordkeeping, and safety expectations

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

  • Effectively interact and communicate with craft employees that are injured, staff employees, workers comp representative and medical professionals and doctors.

  • Contact all injured personnel regularly after an injury and interface between them, site safety manager, project team, medical personnel and department leadership.

  • Provide guidance to safety professionals and field staff on how to best manage injuries to a successful conclusion

  • Train personnel in Injury Management in the workplace and actively caring for employees.

  • Work with safety professionals to select the best clinics for our employees and establish in-depth

    relationships with local physicians and company medical support teams.

  • Regularly communicate with Company Medical Support team (Care OnSite, etc.)

  • Interact with any onsite medical providers and review reports.

  • Provide written weekly and monthly reports to executive staff on status of case management

  • Continually update Safety leadership on injury status.

  • Maintain injury follow up logs and review all injury cases in Donesafe for documentation

    accuracy.

  • Travel to sites as needed for Physician visits, training and other case management processes as

    needed.

  • Work with Workers Comp representatives and ensure all information is up to date as regularly as

    needed.

  • Coordinate with Corporate Safety Department on overall program, project training needs, injury

    management, OSHA/MSHA reporting requirements, and other applicable matters.

  • Assist projects in maintaining jobsite first aid and emergency response supplies.


Qualifications

Education and Work Experience Requirements:

  • Associates or Bachelor's degree in Safety, Medical or related field preferred.

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in construction safety, case management, health care or related field.

  • CHST or higher BSCP certification preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively guide injured workers and interact with various stakeholders.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills to manage high-volume cases and maintain detailed records.

  • Analytical skills to assess medical information, evaluate injury impact, and predict the likelihood of successful recovery.

  • Functional computer skills and knowledge of the Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel

  • Write reports with accuracy.

  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage complex cases from start to finish.

  • Understanding of medical terminology and the healthcare system.

  • Knowledge of MSHA/OSHA regulations and hazard recognition, record keeping and injury management skills.

Working Environment:

  • When visiting jobsites, the work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions
  • This work environment may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors and/or loud noises
