Job Description

Torch Technologies is seeking aSenior Systems Test Engineerto join a team providingsupport to the HBB/Kessel Run (KR) Division, specifically, the Wing Command & Control (Wing C2) Branch.Kessel Run is an Air Force software development organization that continuously delivers war-winning software that our Airmen love. The candidate will provide Systems Engineering assistance that applies a broad theoretical and practical knowledge of system engineering to the acquisition process. The candidate will also provide engineering support in the design, operation, and sustainment of systems and components that cover tasks throughout the acquisition life cycle (requirements analysis through system disposal). This is a full time position located at Hanscom AFB, Bedford, MA. Remote capability is possible.

Responsibilities

This position requires a highly motivated individual with experience.The Senior Systems Test Engineer is responsible for ensuring continuous delivery of the highest quality products and providing relevancy and transparency of test feedback.

Essential Duties include, but not limited to:




  • Lead one of Kessel Run's portfolios in the area of Test & Evaluation (T&E)



  • Analyze current T&E practices to drive alignment of the T&E initiatives with development roadmaps for products within the portfolio.



  • Sustain and improve hardware/software test capabilities to ensure the warfighter receives the best product, building in test automation as much as possible.



  • Be responsible to the Wing C2 Test Lead for all issues regarding T&E of your portfolio, to include the planning and execution of testing throughout the life cycle of each system and interoperability testing between systems, as applicable.



  • Model and advocate for feedback culture, including gathering, synthesizing, and presenting feedback to product teams, portfolios, and branch leadership.



  • Build continuous, meaningful and unbiased feedback into product testing.



  • Understand portfolio health, identify feedback-loop blockers, prioritize, and remove them; sit in on Portfolio Reviews, Growth Boards, etc. to help gain that understanding.



  • Work with QA Test Portfolio under OCIO to iterate on test standards and reporting practices to meet the organizations evolving needs.



  • Advocate for our test design and reporting practices within the portfolio.



  • Facilitate key cross-portfolio communication to enhance our organizational cross-talk and collaboration.



  • Advocate for resources in accordance with needs for portfolio testing.



  • Coordinate with portfolio Integrated Planning Team (IPT) leads to determine testing needs of portfolio applications.



Job Requirements

  • BA/BS is required and 10 years ofdirectly related experience with 5 years of experience in a DoD setting
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Must have and be able to maintain a Secret level Clearance

  • strong leader with a proven track record of analyzing and solving complicated problems and working on fast-paced, highly-collaborative & diverse teams.



  • experience testing software systems using DevSecOps or Agile best practices.



  • expertly navigate government policies while still achieving maximum speed of product or service delivery.



  • believe in fostering empathy, self-awareness, self-reflection & psychological safety.



  • have top-quality written and verbal communication skills (e.g., capable of public speaking, changing your messaging based on the audience, etc.).



  • comfortable providing advice, recommendations, and guidance with incomplete information.



  • Management experience is a plus, but not required
