In a Covestro Design Internship you'll work closely with some of the industry's best and brightest managers and scientists in one of the Business Entities of Covestro.

You will learn about Covestro products, which can include their chemistry, applications, end uses, customer base, and future business opportunities. You will get a hands-on experience in a development environment, as well as an up-close view of our technical and commercial operations. You will be able to apply your knowledge and education to actual automotive design projects through support of new product/technology development that helps solving real world problems.

You'll contribute to ongoing projects getting an intimate look at how Covestro identifies customer needs and keeps the flow of new and established products moving through the marketplace. The internship program will begin in mid-May of 2026, and lasts approximately 12-weeks.

Some responsibilities within a design-based internship at Covestro include:

  • Create compelling 3D visualizations and animations showcasing Covestro's innovative automotive materials and applications
  • Design engaging marketing materials that demonstrate our sustainable mobility solutions
  • Develop interactive tools to help customers visualize material applications in vehicle design
  • Collaborate with technical teams to accurately represent material properties in visual content
  • Support the creation of presentation materials for customer meetings and trade shows

The selected individual will have the opportunity to work with chemists and engineers in a fast-paced environment and become actively involved in supporting of new development. Additionally, you may support a specific team and work on internal projects related to part design and visualization.

WHAT YOU OFFER

Basic Qualifications

  • Enrollment in a bachelor's or master's degree program with a focus in one of the following majors: Transportation Design, Industrial Design, Product Design
  • Completion of Junior year
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior internship/work experience preferred

Skills and Knowledge

  • Demonstrated 2D Sketching, Rapid 3D prototyping, Visual communications skills
  • Illustrator, Photoshop, Blender Sub-D, Solidworks, Adobe Premiere Pro, Unreal Engine 5+, Alias Nurbs, Auto CAD
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills including an ability to interact and establish strong working relationships with diverse individuals
  • Project coordination with the ability to be proactive and identify creative, effective technical solutions
  • Strong creative and problem-solving skills
