Overview

As the leading global marketplace of optics, imaging, and photonics products, access to Partner Products is crucial to our customers' success. The Product Engineer, Brand Partners will be an integral part of the Brand Team and assist in the growth of the portfolio of industry-leading brands within the Edmund Optics Marketplace. This role will directly support the commercial success of partner products by executing the tactics identified in the Marketplace Partners Brand Strategy. By combining their technical, marketing and business skills, the Product Engineer, Brand Partners will be critical in ensuring the strategic fit of new branded partner products. This role will work closely with internal Product Line Managers, Merchandising, Product Release & Marketing, as well as external Sales and Channel Managers of assigned brands. Some travel is required.



Responsibilities

    Support the execution of the Marketplace Partner Brand strategy for assigned brands
  • Research, understand and communicate supplier product information to various EO internal teams to ensure the product content, features & benefits and technical specifications are properly aligned with EO's website, product videos and/or printed collateral
  • Participate in cross-functional product onboarding processes including technical validation, data curation, and commercial readiness for assigned brands
  • Assist in maintaining strong relationships with supplier marketing teams and channel managers to ensure alignment of goals, roadmaps, and performance expectations of assigned products
  • Assist in the execution of supplier brand marketing and merchandizing through campaigns, product spotlights, and additional promotional strategies tailored to that brand's strengths and Edmund Optics' audience to generate revenue and grow customer count
  • Collaborate with internal product release, product content, and merchandizing teams to align brand promotions with commercial and corporate strategies
  • Stay informed on the competitive landscape and emerging technologies to inform the Brand Team
  • Comply with federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations

Required Skills & Abilities:

  • Ability to understand technical specifications and convert them to compelling product features & benefits
  • Interest in developing skills of co-branded marketing and third-party brand representation
  • Willingness to work with many groups, across departments, and show strong team spirit
  • Entrepreneurial spirit
  • Excellent communication, project management and creative thinking capabilities
  • Can manage heavy workload of multiple, concurrent projects and priorities at once
  • Proficient with all MS Office software; strong emphasis on Power BI

Education/Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Math, Physics, Business, Marketing or Communications; experience in an optics, lasers, or physics lab, or in product support of optical, electrical, or laser components; 1-2 years in a B2B, distribution or marketplace setting preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to travel; work in office and/or lab setting.

Compensation Range Transparency:

At Edmund Optics, we are committed to transparency and equity in our hiring practices. The posted salary range for this role reflects the expected base pay. The actual offer will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to relevant skills, education, work experience, business needs, and geographic location.

Salary Range:
$70,000 - $80,000 per year
