National Grid is hiring a Lead Process Manager, Process and Performance Improvement for Massachusetts. This is a Hybrid Role - Must live within a commutable distance to one of our locations

Job Purpose

The Lead Process Manager plays a pivotal role in driving operational excellence within the Electric business by leading the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of key processes. This role ensures workflows are efficient, scalable, and aligned with strategic goals, leveraging methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, and Agile. The Lead Process Manager supports multiple capabilities across the Plan, Network Operations and Work Execution portfolio value stream, partnering with cross-functional teams to deliver sustainable improvements. Success in this role requires a strategic mindset, strong facilitation skills, and the ability to influence change across diverse stakeholder groups. Occasional travel may be required for training and inter-site collaboration.

Key Accountabilities
  • Lead cross-functional teams and facilitate workshops to analyze workflows, gather input, and align process improvement initiatives across departments.
  • Design and implement process improvement strategies that enhance productivity, reduce costs, and improve quality.
  • Apply Lean Six Sigma and other methodologies to streamline operations and drive continuous improvement.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation, including current and future state maps, to support transparency and consistency.
  • Manage process improvement projects and provide support across multiple project teams to ensure timely delivery and alignment with business goals.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure success and guide decision-making.
  • Ensure control measures and compliance standards are in place and adhered to, supporting regulatory and operational excellence.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Process Management, or related field.
  • 5+ years' experience in utility or electric sector, with a focus on electric operations, construction programs and/or project management.
  • Demonstrated success in leading process improvement initiatives and managing cross-functional teams.
  • Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt or higher)
  • PMP or equivalent process-related certifications preferred.
  • Strong analytical with the ability to interpret data to make data-driven decisions and problem-solving abilities.
  • Practical experience applying the DMAIC framework to identify root causes, implement improvements, and sustain results in operational processes
  • Experience in stakeholder engagement, workflow optimization, change management, and continuous improvement methodologies and workshop management.
  • Effective time management skills with ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and persuasively.
  • Proficiency in tools like Microsoft Visio, Excel, and other process mapping and analysis tools.

Salary - $128,000 - $151,000

This position has a career path which provides for advancement opportunities within and across bands as you develop and evolve in the position; gaining experience, expertise and acquiring and applying technical skills. Candidates will be assessed and provided offers against the minimum qualifications of this role and their individual experience.
