The USC Department of Stem Cell Biology and Regenerative Medicine, and the Eli and Edythe Broad Center for Regenerative Medicine is seeking a Research Scientist to contribute to the heart regeneration program led by Dr. Charles Murry. Research activities span from discovery to translational applications involving stem-cell based technologies. We are looking for an experienced scientist who leads from
the bench, is passionate about cardiac cell therapy research, and is a team player. The work involves, but is not limited to designing and conducting complex research projects, developing solutions to a wide-range of research challenges to ensure the achievement of program objectives, as well as contributing to grant writing, and training of lab personnel. Preferred

Experience with cardiac differentiation of human pluripotent stem cells

Experience with bioreactor-based differentiation

Experience with gene-editing

Well versed with Electronic Laboratory Notebooking

Experience with immunocytochemistry

Experience with stem cell based translational research

Required

Extensive experience with human pluripotent stem cells


Minimum Education: Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)
Minimum Experience: 5 years
Minimum Skills: Directly related education and experience in research specialization with highly advanced knowledge of equipment, procedures, analysis methods, principles, theories and concepts. Demonstrated leadership in developing new ideas and ability to publish in appropriate academic and practitioner outlets. Demonstrated independent thinking and leadership in scholarly writing according established criteria (e.g., first-authored publications, conceptual leadership in the development of publications generated alone or with others, writing of first drafts of publications and/or single-authored publications).
