Critical Environment Maintenance Technician

What this job involves

This role puts you at the forefront of maintaining crucial HVAC, electrical, and mechanical systems in high-stakes environments where system failure is not an option. As a Critical Environment Maintenance Technician, you'll be responsible for ensuring seamless operations, optimizing energy efficiency, and minimizing downtime in critical facilities. You'll apply your technical expertise across multiple disciplines while thriving in a challenging, problem-solving environment that makes a significant impact on vital business operations.

Your day-to-day tasks will include:
  • Executing critical environment protocols and Method of Procedure (MOP) processes
  • Performing preventive maintenance and repairs on facility systems including HVAC, CRAC units, electrical systems, and plumbing
  • Operating and maintaining building automation systems, fire/life safety equipment, and related infrastructure
  • Conducting thorough facility inspections and documenting conditions
  • Completing hazard assessments and ensuring compliance with safety procedures
  • Identifying and addressing potential safety hazards before they become problems
  • Utilizing Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for comprehensive work documentation
  • Attending work and safety meetings while escalating issues to customers and management as needed
Desired experience and technical skills Requirements:
  • 4+ years of technical experience in building engineering with strong background in packaged HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and equipment repair/maintenance
  • Knowledge of overall system design and applications
  • Universal EPA Certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment)
  • Working knowledge of computer applications including Word and Excel
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Physical capability to lift up to 80 lbs, work at heights up to 30 feet, climb/bend/kneel/stoop, operate in extreme temperatures, and climb ladders with a 300 lb limit while carrying a 20 lb tool bag
Preferred:
  • Experience working in data centers or other critical environments
  • Two years of trades school or documented apprenticeship in electrical systems, refrigeration and HVAC, plumbing, or other craft skills
