TransUnion is looking for an attorney with experience in regulation who is excited to work at the intersection of regulation, technology, and consumer finance. This is an exciting opportunity to join an amazing company and contribute to our mission for financial inclusion.

What You'll Bring:

  • J.D. degree (or foreign equivalent) and membership in at least 1 U.S. state bar
  • 5-7 years of public policy, government affairs/relations, and/or policy development experience, preferably with in-house experience.
  • Public policy experience on consumer data technology, privacy, or financial services matters.
  • Qualified candidates must have an active license to practice law and be in good standing in the applicable state(s) of employment by the position start date (or as otherwise permitted by state rules).
  • At all times of employment, qualified candidates must remain in good standing and maintain an active license to practice law in their applicable state(s) of employment

We'd Love to See:

  • Track record of identifying and executing creative solutions to address public policy challenges and opportunities.
  • Navigate complex regulatory frameworks to help develop firm-wide positions on public policy matters.
  • Support development of Regulatory Impact Analysis program and help monitor and track federal and state legislative proposals and regulatory events.
  • Ability to provide practical, strategic and business-oriented legal advice.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple time sensitive tasks.
  • Experience drafting comment letters, working with industry trade groups, and engaging in rulemaking and legislative advocacy efforts.
  • Skilled at persuasively and diplomatically advocating complex policy positions before a wide variety of audiences.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, and exceptional verbal and written communication skills

Impact You'll Make:

  • In collaboration with TransUnion's Government Relations team, this role will be responsible for assisting and executing TU's regulatory and legislative engagement strategy.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key public officials and serve as a TU ambassador with key external stakeholders.
  • Monitor and report on legislative and regulatory initiatives that impact the business, and work with business leaders and lawmakers to shape regulatory outcomes.
  • Collaborate with and educate internal business executives and legal colleagues to understand and convey the impact of legislative and regulatory proposals on the corporation.

This is a hybrid position and involves regular performance of job responsibilities virtually as well as in-person at an assigned TU office location for a minimum of two days a week.

Pay Scale Information : The U.S. base salary range for this position is $112,500.00 - $187,500 annually. *The salary range for this position reflects a reasonable estimate of the range of compensation for this job. At TransUnion, actual compensation is based on careful consideration of additional factors such as (but not limited to) an individual's education, training, work experience, job-related skill set, location, and industry knowledge, as well as the scope and responsibilities of the position and market considerations. Regular, fulltime non-sales positions may be eligible to participate in TransUnion's annual bonus plan. Certain positions may be also eligible for long-term incentives and other payments based on applicable company guidance and plan documents.
