Job Description: Essential Job FunctionsReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. 1.Responsible for preconstruction deliverables to clients. 2.Develops a strategy for each assigned project. 3.Provides support to business sales, team sales, and presentations. 4.Risk management - ensures sound financial deals. 5.Drives cost leadership. 6.Oversees and prepares estimates for projects at all stages. 7.Ensures accuracy of estimates produced. 8.Responsible to ensure that the costing database is current and includes labor and material updates. 9.Oversees the value-added process for each project. 10.Takes lead in preparing guaranteed maximum prices and brings guaranteed maximum prices to closure. 11.Directs, reviews, approves the work of Estimating Engineers, Conceptual Estimators, and Senior Estimators. 12.Drives deadlines and achieves results. 13.Ensures client satisfaction during preconstruction. 14.Attends sales presentations and markets work to existing clients. 15.Enforce and support project planning and logistics and scheduling with other teams. 16.Ensures involvement of subcontractors for pricing. 17.Supports operation team during subcontractor negotiations. 18.Continuously develops staff by mentoring, leading, motivating, and coaching (e.g., Ethics, Diversity, Quality, Development, Safety). 19.Manages successful client relationships. 20.Honor the brand promises of the Project Planning Group at Christman. Work Environment This position will be conducted in a temperature controlled professional office environment, with moderate noise. The role will routinely use standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and scanners. Physical Demands While performing the duties of this role, the employee is regularly required to talk, listen sit, walk, reach, kneel, stoop, crouch, and use hands and fingers to handle or feel and to operate a computer and telephone keyboard, and maintain visual acuity. The employee may occasionally be required to lift and or carry lightweight objects under 20 pounds. Expected Hours of Work Full time position. Extended hours and weekends may apply. Travel Minimal travel required, depending on the project, travel to other areas may be required. Majority of travel done during work hours; overnight stays may be required. Required Education and Experience 1.Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Engineering, Business, Finance, or a related job field. 2.Ten (10) or more years of experience in construction or related job field. -or- 3.Equivalent combination of the above education, training, and experience. Preferred Education and Experience 1.Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Engineering, Business, Finance, or a related job field. 2.An in-depth understanding of cost benefit analysis, risk management, statistics, general business skills, information technology, and construction or engineering.
