Under the supervision of the Executive Director of Student Services, the Student Success Coordinator will facilitate and coordinate initiatives related to student retention and success. The Student Success Coordinator will collaborate with Faculty and Student Success Personnel to develop plans to coach and mentor students throughout their respective programs. The Student Services Coordinator engages students early to identify needed intervention, remediation, and other success initiatives based on coaching strategies for improved academic outcomes. This position will be committed to student success and will use interpersonal, public speaking, and data management skills. This position will focus on one-to-one coaching as well as group sessions.
Job Duties:
Identifies at-risk students early within the semester. Implements strategies to support the student, including but not limited to individual and group tutoring, instruction on study and test-taking skills, time management, and work/life balance.
Acts as the first point of contact/resource concerning student academic and clinical performance concerns with referrals from Faculty and other Student Support Personnel.
Encourages and supports students as they gain the skills and knowledge necessary for success.
Provides a trusting environment where students can share their thoughts, aspirations, concerns, and interests.
Acts as a student liaison between the student and the College of Nursing personnel.
Evaluates and disseminates data and outcomes of student success initiatives to key stakeholders.
Collaborates with Faculty and Student Success Personnel to identify areas of need for student success.
Participates in assigned committees.
Consults with program directors and department chair as needed.
Identifies and maintains confidentiality, directs students to appropriate resources or departments for specialized on-and off-campus resources to meet individuals.
Seeks opportunities to grow professionally by attending workshops, conferences, meetings, and forums, reading literature, research publications, and other professional development opportunities.
Conducts one-on-one test review analysis with students who are referred by faculty.
Assists students with identifying, planning for, and overcoming potential obstacles and setting goals for academic success.
Perform other duties as assigned.
This is a time-limited grant-funded position. Employment is contingent on the availability of funding. |
