Responsibilities
Summary: The Director, Records develops, promotes, and maintains the company's Records & Information Management program including the Records Retention Schedule to ensure compliance with corporate policies and practices, and provides guidance for these policies and practices to staff and management. Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- The Director, Records establishes and assures company-wide implementation of corporate policies, procedures and initiatives regarding the management of records and information by working collaboratively with management and employees throughout the organization.
- Develops and manages the records retention schedule with the corporate legal staff to ensure compliance with state and federal laws and guidance and to meet business needs.
- The Director, Records develops and administers training programs for compliance with records and information management policies, procedures, and for the advancement of company initiatives and compliance with client requirements.
- Serves as the administrator for the Master Records System which maintains the inventory information of physical records throughout the company and stored with off-site storage partners.
- The Director, Records monitors trends and the current state of the records and information management and governance industry to advise company management regarding implementation strategies for the growth and maturity of the program.
- Collaborates with the contract compliance staff for the development of audit tools to ensure conformity with records and information management policies and procedures and client requirements.
- Liaison with risk management for cleanup activities related to non-compliance with records & information management policies and procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field.
- Seven (7) years of experience in corrections industry preferred with significant responsibility for developing and implementing policies and procedures that ensure compliance with federal, state, or local laws and regulations.
- Knowledge of and experience with computers and the necessary software typically used in the records & information management industry with specific knowledge of database administration.
- Knowledge of records and information management and governance regulations and best practices.
- Knowledge of converting paper records to electronic records.
- Ability to communicate and work with employees at all levels within the organization.
