Now, we're entering a new phase of growth and are looking for a Supplier Quality Engineer to join our team, contributing to the PDW Quality Assurance program. The ideal candidate will thrive working in an innovative and fast-paced work environment, have excellent critical thinking skills, and will play a pivotal role in assuring product conformity of purchased product to PDW's end users. What You'll Do
- Responsible for continued development of an emerging Aerospace Supplier base ensuring the integrity of purchased product
- Lead PDW's Supplier qualification process and manage company Approved Supplier List, ensuring that Suppliers meet minimum company requirements
- Work directly interfacing with Suppliers, PDW's Supply Chain, Engineering and Quality Assurance programs
- Manage the company's Supplier Risk Matrix and all other relevant Supplier Metrics
- Develop and host monthly Supplier health checkups for critical Suppliers, reviewing Supplier performance metrics
- Manage Supplier Corrective Action program, documenting all supplier events, and reporting to PDW Management and Supplier POC on non-conformances
- Perform critical role in Supplier First Article processes and Capability studies for new Suppliers, ensuring the defined control plans and testing strategies are in place and ensuring PDW Engineering requirements are being met
- Will be required to perform on-site Supplier visits, enhancing stronger relationships with critical Suppliers and conducting on-site Supplier Quality System audits when necessary
- Prepare and maintain records of inspection results, audit findings, metrics and other quality-related data and preparing Management reports periodically
- Comply to all PDW company and Quality Assurance policies and procedures.
Requirements
- 3 to 5 years' employment experience in an Aerospace Supplier Quality Engineer role
- Previous experience in managing Supplier Qualification Process and company Approved Supplier List
- Previous experience conducting unassisted Supplier Quality System Audits
- Critical thinking, strong leadership and time management skills, with excellent written and verbal communication for effectively communicating with team members, stakeholders, and suppliers.
- Strong understanding of analyzing inspection and test data metrics to identify trends, problems, and areas for improvement, and develop solutions and corrective actions where needed.
- Previous experience leading Supplier Corrective Action program
- Thorough understanding of ISO 9001 and AS 9100 Quality Assurance methodologies, standards, processes and company procedures is required.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
- Ability to receive inspection test data from Quality Inspection Team and compile event reports for Suppliers and Management
- Proficiency in relevant software and tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. regularly, with occasional heavier lifting
- Employee must be able to stand, walk, and bend for long periods, as well as push and pull
- Manual dexterity is necessary for performing assembly operations
Work Environment
- * Operates primarily in a professional, climate-controlled office, warehouse, manufacturing and shipping environment. At times, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as safety gloves, goggles, and hearing protection may be required.
- * Employee will also work outdoors as applicable, where they may be exposed to the elements, including heat, rain, and cold.
- * Standard hours are Monday through Friday 7:00AM to 3:30PM, with occasional overtime as operational needs may require.
- * Fast paced environment with moving, packing, and staging shipments
