Primary Responsibilities Include:

  • Design, simulate, and implement moderate to complex digital signal processing modules using tools like MATLAB, Simulink, and VHDL/Verilog for FPGA platforms.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams - including hardware engineers, software developers, and system architects - to develop and integrate DSP solutions.
  • Receive and interpret technical instruction for defined project goals and collaborate on broader system designs.
  • Participate in meetings and communications with customers and partners to support project requirements and ensure deliverables are aligned with expectations.
  • Apply modern DSP techniques, algorithms, and methodologies to enhance existing architectures and develop cutting-edge solutions.
  • Contribute to complex problem-solving through hands-on development and team brainstorming.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (or related field) and 6+ years of prior relevant experience or Master's Degree and 4+ years of prior relevant experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Security Clearance.

DSP Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Intermediate Digital Signal Processing Algorithms.
  • Solid understanding of DSP concepts such as filtering, FFT, and sampling theory.
  • Proficiency in Communications theory.
  • Some Proficiency in programming languages preferably C or C++.

FPGA Qualifications:

  • Strong interest in FPGA development and low-resource digital design techniques.
  • Experience with RTL design in VHDL simulation tools, and synthesis flows.
  • Familiarity with FPGA platforms (e.g., Xilinx, Microchip) and embedded system development is a plus.

Preferred Technical Competencies:

  • Software Defined Radios
  • Digital Signal Processing Theory
  • Signal Processing Algorithms: e.g., Rate conversion, Correlation and Filtering
  • C, C++ Programming: Object Oriented Design
  • DSP Algorithms using MATLAB/Simulink: Develop and pick up MATLAB models for bit exact design verification; May use SIMULINK (system generator) as an interim step.
  • DSP and FPGA Code Optimization
  • Modem Design (SATCOM, wireless, Cellular & SDR)
  • Physical Layers e.g. GSM, Wi-Max, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth
  • Real Time Debugging
  • Signal Impairments Testing, BER Testing: Modem Qualification experience.
  • Design Documentation
  • Performance Verification and Validation
  • Software/Hardware implementation collaboration
  • System Requirements Analysis
