Aircraft Sheet Metal Technician

STS Technical Services is hiring Aircraft Sheet Metal Technicians in Chattanooga, Tennessee to perform structural repairs and modifications on turbine-powered aircraft. This position requires a strong understanding of airframe systems, blueprint reading, and proficiency in sheet metal fabrication. Candidates must be able to work independently, uphold FAA regulations, and maintain a high standard of workmanship on every project.

• Perform airframe repairs including drilling, cutting, and riveting sheet metal components
  
• Apply and remove sealants, soundproofing materials, and finish coatings as needed
  
• Interpret blueprints, technical diagrams, and repair manuals accurately
  
• Maintain quality and safety standards in all phases of work
  
• Support the maintenance and cleaning of shop tools, equipment, and facilities
  
• Follow FAA and company compliance procedures at all times
  
• Uphold customer-focused work habits and professional communication
  
• Work independently or in coordination with a Crew Leader or Team Leader on assigned projects
  
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to continuous process improvements
  

• High school diploma or equivalent required
  
• FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license preferred
  
• Valid driver's license or passport preferred but not required
  
• Minimum 2 years of hands-on aircraft sheet metal experience required
  
• 2 to 5 years of aircraft structural repair experience preferred
  
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work with minimal supervision
  
• Capable of troubleshooting and evaluating system performance
  
• Able to read and interpret regulations, maintenance manuals, and procedural documentation
  

• Work performed in heated hangars and occasionally outdoors
  
• Use of elevated work stands and tall ladders is common
  
• Various positions required in and around aircraft structures
  
• Equipment includes pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical tools as well as jacks, stands, and tugs
