Responsibilities

Imagine a day where you're leading a talented design team, setting CAD standards, and mentoring others-while producing detailed 3D models and 2D drawings that bring complex projects to life. You collaborate closely with engineers, ensure quality across deliverables, and drive innovation through every phase of the design process.

  • 3D Design: Prepare accurate 3D layout and detail drawings of parts, assemblies, and related items on non-routine assignments of substantial variety and complexity. Prepare design drawings, including piping isometrics, etc. Conduct self-checks of created drawings, sketches, and related data to proactively identify factors that may negatively affect final product
  • 2D Drafting: Experience developing single line drawings, process flow diagrams (PFD), P&ID's, pipe support drawings, HVAC system design\layouts, facility layouts and Civil, Electrical & Instrumentation (CE&I) system diagrams using 2D drafting software
  • Leadership: Set guidelines 3D design and modeling, develop EFS templates for 3D models and 2D drawings for projects without client provided guidelines, provide leadership and mentoring to staff for both 3D and 2D work, provide checking and oversight of designer team as necessary to ensure consistency and quality
  • Collaboration & Support: Work independently of engineers but confer with engineers and other designers for design concept interpretation. Support engineers with any changes to drawings. Review the work of other designers/drafters and provide mentoring and leadership
  • Compliance & Performance: Understand and follow all organizational, area/departmental, and client procedures, safety policies, and directives. Meet applied time goals set for position/discipline


Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree with minimum 6 years of experience, HS 10+, or Bachelor's Degree in related field with minimum 4 years of design experience
  • Ability to learn and effectively utilize new design software programs
  • Lead, mentor, develop 3D design team and establish CAD standards, perform admin duties associated with SolidWorks PDM
  • Work with the engineering team in the development of 3D design models and orthographic drawings, piping isometrics, as well as 2D detailed drawings
  • High level of efficiency in the use of SolidWorks, Inventor, Revit, Plant3D or similar 3D design program. Expertise in more than one is highly desirable
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and/or MicroStation for 2D drafting is highly desirable
  • Knowledge in the practices of an engineering discipline; competent in the fundamental concepts of other disciplines as they relate to the assigned discipline
  • Selects hardware and materials as required by the project, with guidance from engineers
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of codes, standards, criteria, and design execution pertinent to various aspects of design
  • Ability to travel for short trips to get badged (on an as needed basis)
  • Work in a multidisciplinary team
  • Develop and maintain red-line documents (ECN's, FCN's etc.)
  • Perform checking of design documents produced by peers, in accordance with company policies and procedures
  • Must be a US Citizen


Pay Range

USD $800,000.00 - USD $140,000.00 /Yr.

Salary Range Information:

  • If a salary range is listed, it reflects the typical range for this full-time position based on the role, level, and location. Individual compensation within the range will be determined by factors such as work location, relevant experience, job-related skills, and education or training.
