Job Summary

The Division of HIV, Infectious Diseases and Global Medicine at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital (ZSFG) is an internationally recognized global leader in HIV clinical care, research and education and has grown to encompass a network of specialty clinics, multiple research and clinical trials, an HIV education program, an international research program in East Africa and a vibrant community forum for clinicians and researchers. Housed within the Division is the SCOPE (Study on Consequences of Protease Inhibitors Era), LIINC (Long-term Impact of Infection with the Novel Coronavirus), and RECOVER (Researching COVID to Enhance Recovery Research Programs that focuses on clinical and translational research.

The Assistant Clinical Research Coordinator (ACRC) will assist the Principal Investigators, project directors, clinical research supervisors, and Clinical Research Coordinators with implementing study protocols, study coordination, data entry, and quality assurance. Under the supervision of a Clinical Research Supervisor or Principal Investigator (PI), the incumbent will perform entry-level duties related to the support and coordination of clinical studies and may receive training and development to prepare and advance for journey-level work at the next level within the series.

The ACRC's duties may include, but will not be limited to, supporting the coordination of one or more single or multi-site, active or follow-up clinical trials and observational cohorts; help prepare protocols for study initiation; help design flow sheets, data forms and source documents; gather and interpret medical, surgical and laboratory data regarding clinical trial subjects; may apply understanding of inclusion/exclusion eligibility criteria for protocols; help recruit, enroll, register, schedule and retain study subjects; record protocol specific treatments and assure collection and shipment of samples; assist research personnel to keep patients on study schedules; complete study forms to submit to sponsors and/or appropriate agencies; collect, enter and clean data into study databases, maintaining data quality; assist with data analysis; assist with preparation of reports and tables; attend team meetings; and perform other duties as assigned. The ACRC will work in close collaboration with other Clinical Research Supervisors, Clinical Research Coordinators, and study investigators, as well as with community partners, necessitating excellent communication skills, organization skills, and the ability to balance collaboration with proactivity and independence.

Note: This is a limited position and will end 5 months after the start date.

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.

The salary range for this position is $28.48 - $45.80 (Hourly Rate).

The Division of HIV, Infectious Diseases and Global Medicine at the University of California San Francisco (UCSF) is an internationally recognized global leader in clinical care, research, and education. With its home-base located at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center (ZSFG), the Division has been ranked as the top facility in the country for AIDS care since 1983. The Division's work is featured frequently in the media, and it is often visited by numerous international, national, state, and local dignitaries and delegations. The Division consists of approximately 36 faculty members, 11 fellows/postdoctoral scholars and 170 academic and staff employees. It is the largest Division of the Department of Medicine (DOM) at ZSFG, with a total expenditure budget of approximately $52 million dollars.

Required Qualifications

• HS graduation and sufficient experience and demonstrated skills to successfully perform the assigned duties and responsibilities; and/or equivalent experience/training.
• Excellent verbal and written communications and presentation skills; excellent organizational skills; and excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively in a diverse team.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Windows.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-based environment; project management and coordination skills; ability to prioritize tasks and meet multiple deadlines on concurrent projects.
• Ability to establish cooperative working relationships with patients, co-workers, & physicians.

Preferred Qualifications

• Demonstrated proficiency with medical terminology.
• Experience working with patients or study subjects.
• Ability to abstract data from medical records and transfer it to data collection forms or directly into databases.
