Position Summary

The Director Portfolio IT role involves the strategic planning, execution, and oversight of technology initiatives and projects to align with organizational goals. These roles require a strong focus on resource allocation, risk management, and performance tracking, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget while maximizing the value of the IT portfolio.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

    Portfolio Management: Champion & Support a strategic vision and plan for the Portfolio in alignment with the organization's goals.
  • Portfolio Governance: Ensure programs and projects follow the ITPMO governance intake process. Support portfolio and program estimate process to help create business cases.
  • Delivery and Execution, Reporting: Overseeing multiple projects within the program, ensuring they are well-coordinated, and interdependencies are managed effectively. Identify potential risks within the program, suggesting strategies to mitigate these risks, and facilitating discussions to mitigate the risks. Track the performance of the portfolio and programs against predefined metrics and KPIs.
  • Financial Management: Support the IT PMs in tracking Portfolio Financials, raising potential financial issues and facilitating resolution.
  • ITPMO Framework - Process and Quality: Ensure IT PMs are following the ITPMO framework and processes to ensure quality delivery onboarding material and onboarding/offboarding process. Ensure maintenance of the Routine and Rituals annual calendar as needed, in support of the ITPMO framework.
  • Collaboration and Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with finance, strategic sourcing, IT planning and analysis (IT governance and IT vendor management), project managers and IT leaders to accomplish portfolio objectives. Facilitate effective communication channels to ensure alignment and support for the portfolio and program objectives.
  • Team Leadership: Manage and mentor internal and external project managers focused on delivering assigned project

Minimum Qualifications Minimum Qualifications
Education Level: (Required): Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience

Field of Study/Area of Experience:
-10+ years

* Proven experience in IT portfolio, program and project management
* Project management and/or scrum master certifications
* Proven experience in project financial management

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
Advanced computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, and web-browsers
Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
Advanced written and oral communication skills.
Strong coordination and administration abilities.
Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and work well under pressure
