Job Description

Coffman Engineers' Raleigh office is seeking a detail-oriented and organized entry-level Biller to join our accounting team for our growing office. This role combines the technical skills to understand a complex project billing and accounting system and the ability to communicate detailed information to customers and staff. The ideal candidate possesses outstanding communication skills, an interest in teamwork and collaboration, attention to detail and desire to work in a creative professional environment.

Qualifications

Requirements Include:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or related field preferred.
  • 0-2 years of billing or accounts receivable with an engineering, consulting, or other project-based firm (preferred)
  • Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

In This Role You Will:

  • Prepare and process client invoices in accordance with company policies, contract terms, and project requirements.
  • Collaborate with project managers and technical staff to gather billing information, review project status, and resolve discrepancies.
  • Ensure accurate billing rates, labor hours, and reimbursable expenses are applied to invoices.
  • Submit invoices to clients through designated systems or portals, and assist with follow-up as needed.
  • Maintain project billing files and support documentation in an organized and auditable manner.
  • Assist with tracking invoice aging and support collections activities as requested.
  • Respond to client and internal billing inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Participate in month-end close activities related to billing and revenue reporting.
  • Support ad hoc projects and general administrative tasks within the accounting department.
  • Additional activities include, but are not limited to: accounts payable, check deposits, and cash disbursement journal.
