Department Information
The Georgia Tech Athletic Associate (GTAA) sponsors varsity intercollegiate athletics competition in 17 NCAA Division I sports for the Georgia Institute of Technology. We are a proud member of the Atlantic Coast Conference. Job Summary

The Athletics Program Ops Assistant Director plays a crucial role in planning, coordinating, and executing athletic programs and events, ensuring alignment with institutional goals and compliance with governing body regulations. As an individual contributor, this position manages the operational logistics of athletic initiatives and supports the success of student-athletes and staff through effective program administration. The role collaborates with executive, senior, and staff-level stakeholders across departments to oversee initiatives that reflect industry best practices. Serving as the primary point of contact for program operations, the director facilitates communication, coordination, and alignment of objectives, deliverables, and timelines to ensure seamless execution. Throughout each phase of program execution, the director is responsible for developing and maintaining essential documentation, incorporating input from relevant stakeholders to ensure accuracy and clarity.

Responsibilities

Job Duty 1 -
Ensure the efficient and accurate execution of key initiatives as directed by the Athletic Director, Deputy Athletic Director, and Chief of Staff. These projects span the full scope of the department and may include, but are not limited to, ACC and industry benchmarking, fan engagement strategies, compliance initiatives, corporate partnerships, development efforts, business operations, and departmental culture.

Job Duty 2 -
Align with the Chief of Staff to strategically plan, manage, and execute high-impact events and initiatives, and special programs that align with organizational goals, foster stakeholder engagement, and support broader program objectives.

Job Duty 3 -
Coordinate and manage logistics for events hosted by the Office of the Athletic Director, including those involving teams, student-athletes, internal staff, and external stakeholders. Serves as the primary point of contact for the Athletic Director's hospitality suite during home games and select neutral-site or away events, ensuring that guests receive timely game-day information, including tickets, parking passes, and access details. Act as a secondary contact for postseason or large-group travel coordination.

Job Duty 4 -
Support the advancement of program objectives, priorities, and goals by applying best practices and recognized industry methodologies to ensure consistency, efficiency, and alignment with organizational strategies.

Job Duty 5 -
Facilitate or actively contribute to team and program meetings by clearly communicating timelines, key milestones, and progress updates to ensure alignment and informed decision-making across stakeholders.

Job Duty 6 -
Develop and maintain key program artifacts, including agendas, presentations, meeting minutes, and supporting documentation for program teams. Prepare comprehensive reports and program documentation to ensure transparency, alignment, and informed decision-making.

Job Duty 7 -
Collaborate with Institute stakeholders and serve as a point of contact for initiatives, such as coordinating training activities and participating in discussions with other groups related to the Office of the Athletic Director. Interact regularly with program sponsors, stakeholders, program teams, and others to determine their needs and use the existing program methodology to develop plans to address these efficiently.

Job Duty 8 -
Manage the Athletic Director's calendar and handle the creation and distribution of official communications on behalf of the Office of the Athletic Director, including emails, memos, and formal correspondence.

Job Duty 9 -
May provide training, guidance, and support to Office of Athletics staff, particularly in the effective use of tools and methodologies that enhance program management practices and outcomes.

Job Duty 10 -
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Experience
Three or more years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Educational Qualifications
Master's degree in a related field, or equivalent.
