DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Regional Program Outreach Coordinator, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the well-being of veterans in your assigned region, which includes the following counties: Bradford, Susquehanna, Sullivan, Wyoming, Lackawanna, Wayne, Pike, Northumberland, Montour, Columbia, Luzerne, Carbon, and Monroe. By identifying their needs and available resources, you will be able to develop and expand the outreach capabilities of the PA VETConnect veterans' outreach program. Your work will involve building relationships with community partners and creating plans to provide necessary assistance and services that are currently unavailable or not funded by the the agency. In addition, you will play a crucial role in promoting all veterans benefits programs and services to the public, community partners, and government service providers through various avenues such as meetings, events, conferences, consultations, and speaking engagements. You will also be responsible for developing effective marketing strategies and collaborating with the agency's Communications Office to raise awareness and promote the available regional veterans benefits programs, events, services, and partnerships.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
  • Work hours are 8:15 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 45-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. You will be required to report to the office once a month. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Jonestown.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as an Administrative Officer 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Three years of experience in progressively responsible and varied office management or staff work, including experience in personnel management, budgeting, or procurement; and a bachelor's degree; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Additional Requirement:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Preferred Qualifications (not required):

  • Completion of military service in a branch of the United States Armed Forces and separation under honorable conditions
  • Two years experience in a customer service related field with an emphasis on human services and/or outreach programs
  • Possession of a valid Class C Driver's License
  • Willingness to travel, which may require overnight stays on short notice
  • Highly motivated with exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with little or no supervision
  • Valid accreditation by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs as a veterans service officer or eligibility for accreditation within one year from date of employment
