Cottage Medical Group seeks a Patient Safety Program Manager responsible for establishing an effective clinical risk management and patient safety program to minimize clinical risk and enhance safety in our CMG clinics. Supports and implements the Clinical Risk Management and Patient Safety Program that is both proactive to identifying potential clinical risk or safety issues which could affect patients, caregivers, stakeholders, staff or providers and reactive to actual events/near misses to ensure the causative factors are identified, and actions implemented to reduce or eliminate recurrence. Analyzes the clinical risk management data for performance improvement initiatives, patient safety initiatives, contributes to the development of educational programs, supports the organization's compliance with regulatory requirements, all with the objective to promote patient safety and protect organizational assets.

QUALIFICATIONS:

All job qualifications listed indicate the minimum level necessary to perform this job proficiently.

Education:



  • Minimum: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent education and experience using the standard of 2 years of experience equals 1 year of education.
  • Preferred: An advanced degree in a health care related field.


Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:



  • Preferred: California RN license. Risk management certification. Certification in Patient Safety.


Technical Requirements:



  • Minimum: Computer spreadsheet and word processing at an intermediate level.
  • Preferred: Database and analytical experience.


Years of Related Work Experience:



  • Preferred: Five (5) years in a management position with at least two (2) years in clinical risk management.
