Enovis Surgical offers surgeons and their patients a full range of primary and revision implants for hip, knee, shoulder, and elbow reconstructive joint surgeries, in addition to the tools and digital health technology needed in today's changing healthcare environment.

Job Title/High Level Position Summary:

As a CNC Programmer Manager at Enovis, you will lead a team of CNC Programmers and serve as the technical expert overseeing all aspects of CNC programming operations for our orthopedic device manufacturing. You will be responsible for developing and optimizing CNC programs, ensuring efficient machining processes, implementing best practices, and partnering cross-functionally to support quality, cost, and throughput goals. This role is instrumental in driving process innovation and fostering a culture of continuous improvement that directly supports Enovis' purpose of creating better patient outcomes

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor a team of CNC Programmers to ensure timely, accurate, and efficient program development.
  • Oversee the creation, revision, and optimization of CNC programs for multi-axis mills, lathes, and mill-turn centers across new and existing products.
  • Collaborate with Design Engineering, Quality, and Production teams to ensure manufacturability, safety, and compliance with internal and regulatory standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across programming workflows to enhance cycle times, tooling efficiency, and part quality.
  • Own and maintain CNC programming standards, tool libraries, post-processors, and simulation files.
  • Support NPI (New Product Introduction) by developing CNC strategies for prototype and production machining.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and corrective action planning for machining-related non-conformances.
  • Evaluate and implement CAM software enhancements, machine upgrades, and programming best practices.
  • Partner with the Manufacturing Engineering team to assess and validate new equipment capabilities and tooling strategies.
  • Provide hands-on support and technical training for machinists, setup personnel, and junior programmers.
  • Track and report key programming performance indicators (KPIs) related to efficiency, quality, and productivity.

Minimum Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • 8+ years of CNC programming experience in a regulated manufacturing environment, preferably medical device or aerospace.
  • 3+ years of leadership experience in a team lead, supervisor, or manager role.
  • Proficient in CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Siemens NX, or similar).
  • Strong knowledge of G-code, GD&T, cutting tools, workholding, and machining strategies for metals (including titanium and cobalt-chrome).
  • Experience programming and optimizing 4- and 5-axis CNC equipment.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and error-proofing concepts.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in medical device manufacturing with tight tolerance requirements.
  • Knowledge of validation protocols and regulatory compliance (FDA, ISO13485).
  • Experience with DNC systems, ERP (SAP), and tool management software.
  • Proficient in CAD tools (SolidWorks or equivalent).
  • Continuous improvement certifications (Lean Six Sigma Green/Black Belt) a plus.

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
