Job Description

The School of Accountancy in the Trulaske College of Business at the University of Missouri invites applications for multiple tenure-track faculty positions at the rank of Assistant Professor, with appointments beginning no later than Fall 2026. Exceptionally qualified candidates may receive consideration at the Associate Professor level, with or without tenure.

Qualifications

Applications must possess a doctoral degree in accounting or closely related field from an AACSB - accredited program or expect to complete the degree by the time of appointment.

Candidates will be evaluated on the following dimensions:

  • Research: Potential or demonstrated ability to publish high-quality scholarly work in top-tier accounting journals in areas that complement or enhance the School's existing research portfolio.
  • Teaching: Potential or demonstrated ability to teach effectively and inventively at both undergraduate and graduate levels, particularly in the School's areas of highest teaching need: auditing, accounting information systems, data analytics, and artificial intelligence.
  • Service (for experienced applicants): A record of meaningful service to their academic institution and profession.

  • Evidence of teaching competence

The School of Accountancy offers an integrated 150-hour program that confers both undergraduate and master's degree, as well as an online Master of Accountancy and a PhD in Accountancy. The School recently received a transformative gift to rename its master's program as the Paul and Lynn Ann Vogel Master of Accountancy Program. We also participate in the KPMG Master of Accounting with Data and Analytics (MADA) program, and out integrated MAcc program admitted its largest-ever class this year.

Our program benefit from strong partnerships with the accounting profession, including public accounting firms, corporations, and professional organizations. Faculty enjoy a collegial and collaborative research environment, supported by an active research workshop series and strong research support. Reflecting that environment, our faculty consistently ranks among the most productive in the nation in audit, financial, and tax research.
