Position Description:

That's why academic medicine, and the continuous pursuit of knowledge, is at the center of everything we do at the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW).

As a Postdoctoral Researcher, you will be part of a lab that performs MRI research and development of advanced multiparametric methods for the evaluation of primary and metastatic brain tumors. Recent work incorporates machine learning methods to advance the interpretation of the multiparametric MRI datasets to aid in the radiologic evaluations of such patients. We are seeking a motivated individual to continue to advance and evaluate the machine learning methods for this purpose. This project is part of a broader effort to significantly enhance the clinical portfolio of advanced MRI methods for the clinical evaluation of brain tumor patients.

The successful candidate will join a highly collaborative laboratory focused on the development and application of MRI technology and analysis software in the Department of Biophysics, with access to state-of-the-art instrumentation and expertise in MRI. The applicant will be part of an interdisciplinary team. A successful individual will mentor graduate students in research projects. Strong collaborative skills are required. This position will be fully funded on research grants.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and independently execute studies related to the project described above, including developing and testing machine learning methods, analyzing data, and disseminating results through presenting at conferences and writing manuscripts.

Knowledge - Skills - Abilities

Ideal candidates will have experience expertise in one or more of the following:

  • Magnetic resonance imaging
  • Python, MATLAB, C/C++
  • Excellent writing skills, as evidenced by first author publications
  • Exposure to clinical MRI in general, with knowledge of brain tumor MRI




Preferred Schedule:




M-F 8-5pm



Position Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum education: PhD in a scientific field or MD
Minimum experience: 0-3 years of prior postdoc experience

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred experience: Expertise in MRI, artificial intelligence/machine learning, medical imaging software development, clinical MRI applications
