What to Expect
We are seeking a highly skilled Electrician to join our traveling team, working on job sites across the country. As a key member of a cross-functional team, you will be responsible for performing complex electrical installations, troubleshooting, and leading crew members to deliver high-quality results. This 80% travel-based position requires a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
What You'll Do
- Perform new installations of power distribution, transformers, underground conduit, switchgear, AC/DC inverters, lighting, and electrical equipment up to 480 VAC and 1000 VDC
- Interpret complex electrical schematics and blueprints to plan work scopes, install requested improvements, troubleshoot, and correct problems
- Communicate clearly and concisely with crew members, supervisors, site superintendents, and clients, displaying a positive attitude and good work ethic
- Train new employees and educate other team members on construction implementation complexities
- Express leadership and initiative on new projects, working alongside and participating in other trades
- Complete tasks in a timely manner and provide feedback
- Collaborate with design engineers, project managers, and business developers to push the limits of construction technology and techniques
What You'll Bring
- Valid state-certified electrician license with knowledge of safety standards set by NEC and NFPA 70E
- 2+ years of electrician journeyperson level or higher experience in industrial, military, or commercial settings
- Experience handling low to high voltage up to 480 VAC and 1000 VDC, with preferred experience in fiber optic cable terminations, medium voltage, utility-scale work, and PV
- OSHA safety and CPR-First Aid certifications
- Ability to use trade tools, meters, technology, and necessary equipment to complete the job
- Ability to lift and pull a minimum of 50 lbs, work at heights, and perform repetitious duties
- Valid driver's license required, with flexibility to work on weekends and/or overtime, and overnight stays to support Tesla's critical mission
