Description

This position will support the
Central Region, primarily in the Westwood Campus area, providing patient care
for our inpatient and outpatient settings. The Central Region is currently made
up of Westwood and Santa Monica campus area, This position participates in
on-call, holiday, and weekend schedules as prepared by the manager.
Additionally, participation in rotating shifts is required, as needed.

In this role, you
will:


  • Provide age-appropriate
    assessment and interventions in order to meet the needs of patients and
    families served
  • Obtain, evaluate and use
    information from the patient requisition, medical records, referring
    physician and correlate with acquired images
  • Use cognitive
    sonographic skills, to identify and differentiate anatomy and pathology
  • Use independent
    judgement to produce diagnostic images of human anatomy utilizing
    diagnostic ultrasound systems for our referring providers and our
    interpreting physicians
  • Extend courtesy to our
    patients, family members, visitors and co-workers through our "World Class
    Practices" Service Standards

  • Internal applicants will transfer at their
    current career ladder level.

Staff Sonographer:


    • One to two years
      experience within the hospital / acute care setting
    • Must maintain active
      RDMS certification in one specialty, i.e. Abdomen or OB-GYN
    • Graduate of CAAHAP
      accredited ultrasound program is strongly preferred
    • Salary Range: $58.74 -
      $77.50 Hourly

Senior Sonographer
(Advancement into Senior Sonographer job classification will be assessed after
6 months with UCLA Health):


    • Minimum of four years of
      prior experience within the hospital / acute care setting
    • Must maintain Active
      RDMS certification in three specialties: Abdomen, OB-GYN and RVT
    • Proficient in Abdomen,
      OB/Gyn, Pediatric and Vascular Sonography. Additionally, proficiency
      in interventional procedures
    • Graduate of CAAHAP
      accredited ultrasound school is strongly preferred
    • Salary Range: $65.55 - $79.93
      Hourly

Salary Range (Staff
through Senior): $58.74 - $79.93 Hourly

Staff Ultrasound Technologist


  • At
    least 1 year of acute care (hospital) experience - required
  • RDMS
    credential in one specialty (Abdomen or OBGYN) - required

Senior Ultrasound Technologist


  • 4
    years of prior acute care (hospital) experience - required (Advancement
    into Senior job classification will be assessed after 6 months with UCLA
    Health)
  • RDMS
    credential in Abdomen, OBGYN and RVT - required

General Requirements


  • BLS/CPR Certificate - required
  • Graduate
    of CAAHAP ultrasound program - strongly preferred
  • AAS
    or higher in Medical Sonography - preferred
  • RDMS
    (AB or OBGYN) - minimum requirement
  • Advanced skills in Vascular and / or
    MSK ultrasound - preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively
    interact with patients, visitors, physicians, nurses, staff and others in
    a professional and courteous manner
  • Ability to accept and carry out oral
    and written instructions accurately
  • Ability to employ independent decision
    making, prioritize work, while handling multiple tasks to completion
    within allotted time
  • Ability to show attention to detail,
    accuracy and thoroughness
  • Basic typing skills to input various
    data into RIS and HIS Information systems.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology with
    the ability to distinguish between types of procedures within the assigned
    department(s) and medical diagnoses
