Job Summary

Specializes in using tattooing techniques to restore the appearance of skin affected by medical conditions like surgery scars, burns, vitiligo, or missing areolas, by camouflaging imperfections with natural-looking skin tone pigments, often working closely with patients undergoing reconstructive procedures to enhance their confidence and body image, requiring a high level of technical skill, artistic ability, and sensitivity to client needs.

Essential Functions

  • Conduct thorough consultations with patients to understand their medical history, desired results, and concerns related to their skin condition.

  • Assess the quality of the client's skin, including scar tissue, pigmentation variations, and potential healing challenges.

  • Develop a customized treatment plan based on the client's needs, selecting appropriate pigments and techniques to achieve the desired outcome

  • Precisely apply skin-tone pigments using specialized micropigmentation techniques to camouflage scars, create 3D areola effects, or restore missing features.

  • Provide comprehensive post-treatment care instructions to ensure optimal healing and results.

  • Adhere to strict sanitation protocols and follow all relevant health and safety regulations related to tattooing procedure

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervisory/Management Responsibilities

  • This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director or executive.

Minimum Requirements

  • Education - High School diploma / GED or equivalent.

  • Experience - No experience required

In Lieu Of

Required Certifications, Registrations, Licenses

  • Completion of a recognized paramedical tattooing training program

  • Completion of bloodborne pathogens training program

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Drawing and color matching skills to create natural-looking tattoos

  • Proficiency in micropigmentation techniques, including needle selection and depth control

  • Basic understanding of skin anatomy, healing processes, and potential complications related to different skin conditions

  • Ability to build rapport with clients, address their concerns, and provide emotional support during sensitive procedures

  • Basic computer skills

  • Knowledge of office equipment
