Journeymen Engineer
This position is contingent on Contract Funding.
Purpose:
- Valkyrie Enterprises has an immediate need for a Journeymen Engineer in Huntsville, AL.
- This role is part-time.
Job Description:
- Supports an Air Tunnel development project using Computational Fluid Dynamics Designs and Solutions.
- Performs basic engineering tasks in order to gain familiarity with engineering functions.
- Aid staff engineers performing routine inputs and other tasks as assigned.
- Assist in obtaining information in support of assigned tasks.
- Help develop, integrate, and execute new and/or modified models and tools used for system design trades and analysis.
- Help develop and integrate appropriate interfaces for simulation architectures.
- Assist in conducting trade studies, analysis of alternatives, and capability analysis.
- Learn and work to gain overall knowledge and proficiencies with digital engineering tasks and System Engineering processes.
- Collaborate continuously with team members and others.
- Continually learn and improve based on focused feedback.

Qualifications
- Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent and actively pursuing a BA/BS Degree in Engineering (Aerospace, Software, Mechanical, Electrical, or relevant field).
- Must have the ability to follow directions and apply basic mathematics (add, divide, multiplication) to computations.
- Must be able to use PC software (word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, desktop applications, and electronic mail programs) and standard digital engineer tools (dMatlab, Python, etc.).
Desired Qualifications
- Prefer a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher.
- Prefer membership in Engineering Organizations and Institutes.
- Prefer a certification in Microsoft Office or similar.
Security Requirements:
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
Travel Requirements:
- Minimal travel- less than 10%
- If position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain (by start of position) and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID. Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to work in an office environment.
- Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods, moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another, communicating with others to exchange information, repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers, light work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds.
