JOB SUMMARY A photography instructor plays a crucial role in teaching students the art and science of photography. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Areas of responsibility include but are not limited to the following:
- Develop Lesson Plans: Create comprehensive lesson plans that cover various photography techniques and concepts.
- Teach Photography Skills: Instruct students on the use of different types of cameras, lenses, and other photography equipment.
- Deliver Lectures: Present topics such as composition, lighting, and color theory.
- Post-Production: Teach photo editing and retouching using software like Photoshop and Lightroom.
- Provide Feedback: Review and give constructive feedback on students' work to encourage improvement.
- Organize Field Trips: Plan and lead photography field trips or workshops.
- Stay Updated: Keep up with the latest trends, techniques, and technology in photography.
- Assess Progress: Evaluate student progress and adapt teaching methods to different learning styles.
- Teach History: Educate students about the history of photography and influential photographer

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Education: Bachelor's degree in photography or related field (preferred) Experience: Minimum of 1 year experience teaching photography to adults and children. Skills/Abilities:
- Professional Experience: Proven experience as a professional photographer.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in using various photography equipment and editing software.
- Teaching Skills: Ability to develop lesson plans and deliver engaging lectures.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Creativity: A passion for photography and the ability to inspire students
- A willingness to promote the mission of The Salvation Army.
