Dietitian - Kidney Transplant - 40hrs - Days

Department: Kidney Transplant

Schedule: 40 hrs/week, 8 hrs/day, 7:30am-4:00pm, no weekends, no holidays

RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Kidney transplant patient assessment and counseling
  • Assesses patients for nutritional status to determine if they qualify for organ transplant.
  • Provides interventions/treatments throughout patients transplant journey including diet assessment, weight loss advising, diabetes education and food hygiene practices.
  • All potential transplant recipients are required by CMS to be seen by a transplant dietitian in the pre-transplant, hospital, and post-transplant phases of the transplant process.
  • Collaborates with physicians, nursing and ancillary services.
  • Monitors tolerance and effectiveness of nutritional regimen and recommends therapy adjustments as necessary.
  • Provides medical nutrition therapy and evaluates effectiveness of treatments.
  • Researches and takes initiatives to resolve nutrition care related complaints and problems.


EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE



  • Previous renal, bariatric, or diabetes experience preferred
  • Bachelors in Dietetics
  • 2+ years' experience preferred


CERTIFICATION/LICENCES REQUIRED



  • Dietitian credentialed from the Commission on Dietetic Registration obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
  • Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association
  • BLS Provider preferred. American Heart Association
