National Grid is hiring a Lead Business Partner, HR. The hybrid role is located in our Waltham, MA office.

Job Purpose

This Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) role will be an integral part of our New England HR team. The successful candidate will bring high energy, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record of implementing strategic people plans with passion for talent management. The HRBP should have the ability to be both strategic and operational, owning the people plan aligned to the function's objective and support of other Senior HRBP with front-line issues, managing them through to resolution. The HRBP will play a critical role helping to create and support a high performing team, help drive an inclusive culture and support engagement across the function.

In this role you will establish yourself as a go-to strategic HR partner offering leaders your support. You will work closely and collaboratively across our HR Centers of Excellence (HR Operations, employee relations, talent management, reward, recruiting strategy and professional development) to provide the business the people support needed to be successful. The HRBP will support the business leaders in anticipating their short-, medium- and long-term talent, leadership and organizational effectiveness requirements in order to deliver their objectives.

Key Accountabilities
  • Project lead for the NE People team for management reporting cadence and ad hoc projects that cross the NE People Team.
  • Coach and advise leaders and employees on a variety of components impacting employee experience: employee development, capability building, employee relations concerns, rewards and recognition, performance management, HR policies
  • Face of HR to the NE Business, ensuring operational excellence to HR strategic initiatives including leadership development, succession planning, workforce planning, inclusion and diversity, talent analytics, engagement survey and action planning, and overall process improvements
  • Partner with leadership on annual performance management cycle
  • Partner with the business on day to day operational people needs
Qualifications

* Bachelors' degree or equivalent experience

* Minimum of 4+ years of experience as an HR Generalist, HR Analyst, HRBP or in a business function

* Strong problem-solving skills

* Demonstrated ability to partner with stakeholders

* Strong interpersonal skills, capable of building trust a

* Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with ability to adapt the content / style of a message, based on an understanding of the climate and culture of a particular group and what will produce the best response

* Demonstrates the ability to assemble complex ideas, issues and observations into clear and simple explanations.

* Must have valid driver's license.

Salary

$123,000 - $145 a year

This position has a career path which provides for advancement opportunities within and across bands as you develop and evolve in the position; gaining experience, expertise and acquiring and applying technical skills. Candidates will be assessed and provided offers against the minimum qualifications of this role and their individual experience.
